Hey there dakaiets. I work at a walmart so its easy enough to go check on cameras. One of the lady's that works in the photo lab knows ive been searching for a cheap ish camera to take pictures of and I quote (those little action figures I play with) Now she did show me two. Both would work but I don't want to spend the extra 60 bucks on the more pricier one if the less expensive one will do the job. which do you think I should get?
Going to work so i'll check back on this when I get home links are below.

I didn't respond as I loathe Kodak, but this is the one I am looking at personally:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9266493&type=product&id=1218071907745
It's a Sony Cybershot W290 and it's got incredible reviews. Ironically enough I've been looking for a camera as well...
-J.
EDIT: Thought I'd help you a bit more.
cNet reviews on each:
http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/kodak-easyshare-m863-red/4507-6501_7-32896578.html?tag=rnav
http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/kodak-easyshare-m340-digital/4507-6501_7-33543259.html?tag=mncol;rnav
Of the two I'd go w/ the M340 as it has the best MP rating along w/ the better ISOs.

I have a Casio Exilim 6megapixel camera. Cheap as you like and, if you know how, takes pictures of minis beautifully!
If I had a gun to my head I would choose the EASYSHARE M863 Digital Camera

I've used an easyshare Z700 (the wife's camera) and it works fine for minis (so anything newer should also work fine. The macro is fine for mini work.
Myself, I only use SLRs as a preference, but that's down to long-term use and general snobbishness towards compacts (I've been using an SLR camera since I was 14. I'm 40).
Check the focal distance for macro (there are some good compacts that will do macro from 10cm away. Others struggle at 30cm).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
