Subject: Daemons and Apocalypse - Specifically Reserves.

Ok, how's this for you lot. In a game, half the Daemons army DS on T1, rest of the army remains in reserve. Now, under normal Apocalypse rules, assuming you had a fully Daemons army, you'd presumably get up to half the remainder in T2, and the rest on T3. So far, so good.
Now, as the Apocalypse rules state only a "teams" reserves, ie the entire force, you could potentially, if you had say 20 Daemons units and 10 Allied units in reserve, bring in 10 Daemons T1 as per Daemonic Assualt, 10 Daemons T2 and the rest in T3. Again, I can't find a problem with this.
Heres where it gets fun. Assuming the same spread of Reserves, I take the "Careful Planning" Asset. This allows me to bring the reserves sequence forwards by one turn. Can I now plonk the entire Daemons force on turn 1?

Half of your reserves would come in turn 1, half turn 2.
This means that half your force would be on the table turn 1, half your reserves (half your army) would drop in turn 1, then turn 2.

No this isnt how it works in apoc.
Which ever half you rolled for with your demon army would come in on turn 1, as per the demon codex. The rest of your army is held in reserve.
The, as per the apocalypse book, half of your reserves come in on turn 2, and then the other half on turn 3.
So what actually happens is:
T1, rolled for 1/2 of your army.
T2 First 1/2 of your reserves (1/4 of your army)
T3 second 1/2 of your reserves (1/4 of your army)

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live? |

Regwon, I was responding to 2what would happen if you used Careful Planning" - where reserves come in turn 1 and 2 not turns 2 and 3. So actually I was right for the scenario they gave
So you would getL
T1: the 1/2 your army you rolled for AND 1/2 of the 1/2 of the army you didnt get
T2: the other quarter of your army appears.

Yes, but what if you had non Daemons Reserves as well? Because Apocalypse games make no distinction between units from different Codices for reserves purposes.
So if you had X Codex Daemons Units, and then half of X in say, CSM Units held in reserves, you'd bring in half of your Daemons units, plus half the remains - which in this case, can also be Daemons troops?

This is a Case where the Apoc Rules for reserves do not mesh with Normal 40k. TBH it is Apoc, you should work something out everyone is happy with.
If people get pissy you've missed the point of Apoc

Do as you wish. That way you DON'T have even a single turn to try to take out my Disruptor Beacon before it scatters your army to the winds.
