Hi, can anyone suggest some paints and mixes for a blood raven colour scheme please; I am stuck on trying to get the base colour for one, over a black spray. Can anyone help out, many thanks.

Cheers,
Dude Sweet

Alrighty, lets see here....
Shoulderpads look black and white, you could add a little bleached bone to the white to add depth.
The main Power Armor....I'd go for Scab Red, it's a deep enough red to replicate that colour perfectly. If you're worried about
getting it over a black undercoat, just do several THIN layers of paint. The red will be very vibrant and look great! Highlight that with
Blood Red.
Hope that helps a bit!

Edit: Whoops the pic didn't work...

Hi

I'd say Mechrite (Foundation) red as a base. You can highlight it up and hit it with badab black wash that will mute it down nicely.

For my blood ravens i go:

ARMOUR - Scab red, red gore, blood red

and bone colour (eg. shoulder pads) - snakebite leather, bubonic brown, bleached bone

for my blood ravens see gallery

For MINE, I go mechrite, red gore, blood, I do 3rd company, so I do red shoulder rims, and graveyard earth then bleached bone for the chest eagles and shoulder pads. Purity seal wax I do snot green washed with badab black.

I know. I'm evil.
I saw weird stuff in that place last night. Weird, strange, sick, twisted, eerie, godless, evil stuff. And I want in.

Go to minivault.com for some Blood Ravens paint recipes. Tom Schadle is a Slayer Sword winning painter whose Blood Ravens are beautiful. I love his reds and greens....

Thanks guys : ) I will probably have a go at all the colour schemes mentioned to see which I like best, lol. I am just trying to get away from that purple looking red you get with sacb red, but I will try putting more layers on as you said.

Cheers,
Dude Sweet
