I was wondering if this would work as fun list or would people have a issue playing it:

HQ

Lord Commissar (rides with one of the Vets)

Troop

Vets with 3 Meltaguns in Chimera

Vets with 3 Meltaguns in Chimera

Fast Attack

Devil Dog

Hellhound Squadron (2 Hellhounds)

Devil Dog

Heavy Support

Leman Russ Squadron (3 Leman Russ)

Leman Russ Squadron (2 Vanquishers with Lascannon)

Leman Russ Squadron (2 Demolishers)

2000 pts on the dot.

I would play it with the Russes leading the way with the Fast attack dealing with close infantry. It looks like it would be fun, but I worry that opponents would not like playing against it. What do you think?

Id drop the vanquishers for 2 more vet squads.

First off, take a CCS and ditch that your Comisar. You'll be getting a far better value for your points.

Next two troops choices in a 2,000 point game is asking to lose 2/3rds of the missions for lack of scoring. Drop your Vanquishers and add in two extra units of Melta Vets, they're better at killing vehicles and can score.

Also why are you wasting points on Hellhounds, you would be better off with a pair of Valks with missile pods for anti-horde and you could stick your melta CCS in one.

As well you can drop an extra LR as having three is overkill, you could use this for an artillery unit, but I would squad up for Banewolves and buy a Vendetta and two more meltas for your CCS.

Taking my suggestion your list would look like this.

HQ
CCS 4x Melta

Troops
Vets 3x Melta Chimera HF
Vets 3x Melta Chimera HF
Vets 3x Melta Chimera HF
Vets 3x Melta Chimera HF

Fast Attack
2x Banewolves
Vendetta
2x Valks

Heavy Support
2x LR's
2x Demolisher

This list gives you more scoring, and more balance as you gain in anti-horde anti-MC and anti-Vehicle.

Yeah, agree with Norade and advise you play with his list. Two troops @ 2000 points, you can't win. Especially with guard; you need bodies to soak up fire and provide redundancy for lost units

Many started armies including: / , , ....and Bretonnia

I like the list for how it will look on the table. I'm not to keen on the tactics/strategy of it though. I plan to run a similar list at 1500.

Sticking with armored company concepts (tanks and some light non-tank stuff).

*I would drop hellhounds for two more vet squads or switch out the vets for a platoon. there's nothing wrong with chimeras in a traditional armored company force. I'd prefer vets though as it befits a heavy assault format.

*I would switch out vanquishers for other armor. Although heinously pretty, they're not efficient now. replace them with stock Lemans or other variants.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

I really wish to keep the Armor Company field (6+ Leman Russ Tanks), but taking in some of your suggestions:

HQ

CCS with 4 Plasma
Chimera

Troops

Vets with 3 Meltaguns
Chimera

Vets with 3 Meltaguns
Chimera

Vets with 3 Meltaguns
Chimera

Vets with 3 Meltaguns
Chimera

Heavy Support

Leman Russ Squadron (3 Leman Russ)

Leman Russ Squadron (2 Demolishers with Plasma Sponsons)

Leman Russ Squadron (2 Eradicators)

How does that look? I have 35 points left.

I'd use the last 35 points for pintle mounted stubbers on three Chims and melta bombs for you CCS.

EDIT: At a second glance I'd trade out the plasma in your CCS for meltas, your CCS is an expendable tank hunter force and that would leave you enough for the pintel stubbers on all Chims and still get the Commander melta bombs so they could pop two tanks a turn if you play it right.
