Gorbad is the one model that got me into this hobby. He's Damn near perfect, IMHO.

I couldn't find a stand alone pic of a Thunder Hammer and Storm shield model that I liked so I just pulled the pic from the GW site that shows the assault terminators.

Luna: yea it is a shame that GW can't model a normally proportioned humanoid....

Cryonicleech : Do you own a Gorbad model? I always wondered if it had a problem with being to top heavy. Either way it is an epic model! and a must own for O&G players.

This model recently came back into production with the November 2008 release of Warriors of Chaos. I bought it in a blister pack of lead alloy Chaos Warriors back in 1989 on one of my first trips to what was then the only GW store in the US. When I saw this model I absolutely had to have it and it began my total addiction to the miniatures hobby and GW models in particular. I recently brought this model with me to my collection display at Games Day Baltimore 2009, because it is a prime example of why I became completely hooked on collecting and painting miniatures. There are few models produced today that speak to me as well as this "ancient" Chaos Champion still does.

Close runner-ups for me would be the 4-armed snake-bodied Slaanesh Champion who came in the same blister as the model shown above, Terminators, any Terminaotrs, I just love them and own dozens of many different types and the sensational Maugan-Ra. Terminators and Maugan Ra are both Jes Goodwin designs, and I think overall he's the most brilliant miniatures designer ever.

Sorry, but it's got to be the hypno toad. Juan Diaz took a crap idea (frog wizard, honestly!) and not only made it believable, but made it look amazing too.

Brother-Captain Stern, the whole model just comes together for me. The sculpting, the pose, all of it just oozes "commanding presence". It also looks great in two-tone purple.
