So a few months back I was at a geeky geeky auction thing, and I picked up a bundle of spacemarines. Didn't know anything else about it than that it was completely average spacemarines and lots of them. Come home, cuts the tied together sprues, counts them, thirty sprues, each with three snapfit spacemarines in them.

Wonders what in the world I would do with 90 snap fit space marines. Especially since I only had like 3 different variations off them, meaning I had thirty and thirty and thirty utterly identical spacemarines.

So I gave a friend ten sprues. This leaves me with sixty marines though. I figure I'll buy a devastator pack, think they have six special weapons in them. However, they're still identical, now in groups of twenty. And I don't /really/ need six squads of tactical marines.

So, I figured I should post here asking if someone has any conversion ideas, or really nifty tutorials, either to make them more unique, give them a better pose, because the one they have now is rather very boring. Or how to get them flamers or multimeltas, and how to best make sergeants of them. Or how to convert them into an entirely different unit. I'm very open to ideas at the moment. I've only been warhammering for like half a year though, so my modelling skills aren't extraordinary.

I believe in female space marines.

Mixed in with some normal multi-part marines, and given a variety of backpacks and extra equipment (ammo pouches, purity seals, knives, etc), I doubt most players would even notice (or care) that your squads are mostly based on the same basic models.

I would honestly sell some of them on Ebay or RM and them mix the lot you do paint up with other marines as clang said.

There really is no draw back to them if you spice em up and mix them around.

You could use their homogony, do a 1000 Sons army with them all in lock step. Don't worry about the head dress just paint them in pre-heresy red and black with lots of Ms.

Give them to me to practice my green stuff work on? No? Why ever not?!

Honestly? I'd probably go to the warstore and order some extra parts (Multi-Meltas + Flamers FTW) and build a drop pod list

Drop Pod's aren't even that badly priced, considering how much detail is on that thing.

Just my 2 cents!

You could also incorporate them into terrain, depending on which snap-fit marines you got. I have the Battle for Mccrage ones, and you could readily use a marine or 10 to line a street for a gaming table.

Things I've gotten other players to admit...

Feel free to send them to me.

Seriously, you could trade them if you really don't want 'em.

With that many spare parts, you should experiment and chopping off legs, arms, hands, forearms, feet and try to reposition them into different poses. (I would)

Hmm. Thanks for all the suggestions! I think I might do a little bit of everything. I could try chopping off legs, but the arms and and hands are molded tightly towards the chest so it might be difficult. But yeah, I have parts to experiment with!

I believe in female space marines.

That's what I was gonna say.

Build a Marine command centre, and paint them all "stone". You could even use the "marble paint in a spray can" stuff at most hardware stores to make it go quick. Maybe make 3 on either side of a stairway going into the front door, or something like that.

Sounds to me like you have two armies...a Space Marine and a Chaos Marine.

30 for each.

If you don't actually need them to play with, turn them into barricades of dead marines. Seriously, if I was a 40K soldier of any race, I'd be happy to take cover behind a row of power-armoured corpses.
