Serious Squig Herder

Not rules per-say, but since there's no Fantasy General section I didn't know where to ask. And it's ruleish at least.
So - in the SP booklet there's a N. Goblin Big Boss. And it lists his stats and whatnot. My questions are about these:
1) His stats aren't the same as a normal N. Goblin Big Boss (he has higher leadership, and lower initiative), but the booklet doesn't give a points cost on him. Do I just assume he has the same cost as a normal one?
2) His strength is 4, and it says he's using a greatweapon. Assuming the profile already includes the +2 bonus (like it did with the Dwarf Miners) he would have a normal strength of 2. But I was under the impression that all N. Goblins (and dwarves, and any race) had the same stats, and it was modified only by their equipment/status. So it seems weird to me that the Big Boss is weaker than every other N. Goblin.
3) He is modeled with a Squig - in cases as such doesn't the Squig (or whatever) usually have it's own attacks/profile? I've looked through the Orc book, but I didn't see any mention of "can take an attack squig for +5 points" or anything. Is he just a decorative Squig?
Oh - and Squig related question. I was looking around today (on uhm, a competing site) and someone had a N. Goblin battle report where they listed two units as "10 squigs" but it didn't say herder or hoppers anywhere in the report. Is it possible to just field big squads of squigs as cannon fodder? That would be sweet ("release the squigs!").
Thanks in advance!

I would say ignore the skull pass stats.
Since you are already looking into the real stats, thats a good step.
I believe the squigs by themselves have a special rules under "lose squigs" in goblin army book.

Ignore Skull Pass Rules.
Codex Stats 'r Better.
No, The Squig is decorative.
The 10 Squigs musta' been herds, were they deployed in ranks? If no, then they're hoppers.

As to point #2 - I was looking around the GW site, and all the night goblin bosses they listed had a strength of 4, regardless of their equipment - so it seems that my boss would indeed have a strength of 6 then with the greatweapon?
Also, they didn't have pictures or anything - it was just a list that said "10 squigs" - I was leaning towards it being herders, but hoping I could just field some squigs. Thanks though!.

My 7th ed.-fu is a little rusty, but it's enough to know you're off track with the 'all races have the same statline' bark.
The statline of a basic Night Goblin is, from memory:
2 3 3 3 1 3 1 6
and a Dwarf is something like:
3 3 3 4 1 2 1 8
I'm not sure about dwarves (probably has better WS or something) and I played greenskins in 6th ed, but Night Gobbos used to Hate Dwarves and re-roll attacks against them in the first round.
All races have different basic statlines, and heroes/champions usually have at least an extra attack. The NG Big Bosses will have a higher leadership than average. Great Weapons don't affect the statline, they add to the strength of CC attacks and that's all.

What I meant by that Arctik, is that all N. Goblins have the same basic stats, and that all dwaves have the same basic stats, etc etc.
I.E. A Dwarf Miner has the same stats as a Dwarf Thunderer, except for the miner gets a +2 strength bonus from having a greatweapon. I didn't mean a night goblin has the same stats as a dwarf.

Yes, your NG Boss is S4.
Unfortunately, it's only Herders or Hoppers. Still, Herders are somewhat similar.
