Had a question about warbike exhaust clouds. Do they still provide cover for units behind or obscure LoS? I believe in 3rd they did - didn't play 4th - and doesn't state this in the ork codex or FAQ.

Thanks!

The Exhaust Cloud has no Special effect about Providing cover to other units. However, any unit drawing LoS though the Bikers to shoot at a non MC, Non vehicle unit that is not elevated above the bikers will result in a 4+ cover save for the target, just like any other unit.

Forever alone

It doesn't make much sense, but it would just be abusable in 5th.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I think what he means is that one could end up giving themselves a nasty screen of Gouda if you could compound the biker's smokescreen save with something like the KFF, or other screening units.

In other words, it would merit a 5-10 point increase (at least) if it actually obscured models behind it like that.

Things I've gotten other players to admit...

Except you can only ever roll one save per wound... And as Gwar stated, they already give a cover save if the enemy draw LOS through thier unit to models behind them, just like the old rule, only the save they grant is 1 better.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Well, the old rule was a little bit better, since it also gave cover saves against Barrage if the Barrage went over the screen............

NO, I do not think it specifiacally says so. So there is no reason to assume that it would. The rest is just fluff

The current Orks codex was written under fourth edition with an eye toward the forthcoming fifth edition rules.

The warbike "smoke screen" rule was removed from the codex along with the grots' screening rule since in fifth edition, every unit gives cover saves to units behind it.

Thus, special codex rules for those units were soon to be largely redundant.
