Hey guys,

I just finished my Space Wolves dreadnought conversion using a Black Reach dreadnought and bits from the Space Wolves accessory sprue.

I stripped it down, covered it in bits and built it back up. You can read the full guide here
I'm going for a pre heresy inspired colourscheme.

I just need to paint the Red space wolves chapter badge on and it's done.

There's loads more stuff in my space wolves blog too!

It is simple but I think that makes it look better in the end. Not too much going on. Nicely done

yeah i think you've pulled off a good looking model,

only thing i'd suggest is space wovles have that runic fetish maybe try and paint some runes on it...

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

Good and simple but paint the fur a different color to get some contrast into the model. I also like the idea of runes too..

I do what the voices in my wifes head say...

Yeah, making the wolf pelt a slightly different grey would be good - perhaps just a quick drybrush then a wash over the existing paint?

I'd like to see a bit more variety on the base too. And yes, please drill out the gun barrels.

Nice job! Very cleanly painted

Erm...with a standard GW brush.
I do water down my paint so it flows a little smoother. I do have a very steady hand though.

The wolf pelts contrast a bit better in real life. I did actually use the techniques you've mentioned.
I wanted grey wolf pelts, because that's where the colour for the Space Wolves would have originated from (makes sense)
Yeah, the base could be better, I agree. I'll stick an Ork skull or something on there.

My other army is Tau, so drilling out barrells is something I've never done.
Is there a safe guide to doing it anywhere?

Cheers for the kind words guys!
