This is my 1750 list ive been running for a number of weeks. I ran it in a tournament recently with decent results. My test games have gone either draws or wins. Where i see a small problem is in the Capture and Control scenarios. These have all been draws . Maybe thats what i should be shooting for in this scenario since the list will inherently have at least 1 weak scenario.

Company Command Squad: 3x meltagun, Officer of the Fleet
Chimera: Multilaser, Heavy Flamer

3X Hydra Battery 225

Leman Russ Demolisher: Sponson Plasma Cannons
205

Leman Russ Vanquisher: Hull Lascannon, Commander Pask
220

TOTAL: 1750

I want too replace the Officer of the Fleet with and Elite Inq and 2 mystics. The meta game in my area are heavy Drop Pod lists, skimmer lists and loads of melta. Hello Vulkan i even run Sallys

Pask in the Vanq has been 50/50. He seems to take out at least one big thing from my opponent, Land raiders are his primary target and hes stopped a number of them in his tracks. However he hasnt lasted in most games. Pask gets a big fat target on his head once my opponent losses his transport carrying those 200 + pts worth of termies that now need to hoof it across the table. Maybe thats good enough since he usually kills his point equivilent. I however love how this tank can pretty much pop anything on the table in turn 1. Dont leave home without the lascannon as well.

The Demolisher has been simply awsome. Even in CC the thing lasts rear armour 11 has saved this tank alot. The s10 blast pretty much kills anything it lands on... even AV14. paired with the Plas sponsons it does it job increadably well. I love the tank and intend to keep it. The Demolisher is so nice if needed i would consider dropping the Vanq with Pask and add a second Demolisher.

Hydra battery has been MVP for me in lmost every game. Here we have lots of skimmers, so getting shots on those squads has been invaluable. These things take out anything av12 without a problem. I also get to just use them to torrent of fire anything nasty thats not a vehical. They dont move so add in the HB shots and thats alot of output of fire. Almost every opponent i have faced hates these things. The amount of fire is crazy and it keeps most of my opponents skimmers out of my hair.

Vets w/plasma and melta are great. The back bone of the army as we all know. Ive considered dropping 1 for a devildog. the spped here is what im looking for. since it can move 12 and shoot and move at 18 " it gives me a bit more melta range then a vet squad. plus in objective grabbing these puppys moving fast give me better last turn objective grabbing range. Plus melta blast sonds like win anyway. I would actually "love" to run 2 of these in my list...but im not sure if its better to do so, plus dunno where to get the points.

PBS has been so far meh for me. not many lists ive come up against get effected by weaken resolve... even reg marines will regroup. The Blast has actually been used to much greater effect. and if it rolls low ap..it will take out whole squads of marines when it lands. Im still on the fence with these guys. And maybe im just not playing them too full effect. Im willing to drop them if needed. Would like some oppinion on that.

CCS loaded with specials are the cheapest way to get more meltas in my list. Plus i like the ability to use orders when i disembark. The CCS orders really work well. twin linked meltas, ignore cover saves and auto rally has really worked well. I could drop one if needed.

Officer of the Fleet i want to replace. its actually worked to my disadvantave since some armies actually want to hold off deployment. Also with Drop Pods i want the free shots. Last night i tested the inq and 2 mystics. they worked very well. I would like to add them to the list. However im not sure how to do so.

So im wondering how i might add a devildog or 2 or a vendetta . Maybe 1 of each ? Or should i stick with what i have and keep playtesting it ?

I like the list generally, I would be concerned that if your two Battle Tanks are taken out, you would have difficulty with tansports, before they got to you.

few ideas

1. you can free up some points on the pysker battle squad you don't need more than 8 to really be effective so that is 10 more free points since you currently have 9.
2. Definitely figure out a way to get at least 1 preferably 2 vendettas in the list. You could easily replace one of the vet squads with one.
This depends on how your local gaming community rules vendettas though. Can troops in them score or not? If they can it definitely worth investing in 1 or 2, pop some troops in their on the last turn and then score objecitves at the end of the game. Also having a vendetta will force you opponent to choose between killing pask or the vendetta which is also quite useful as they are both tank killers.

we allow troops in valks to score so thats not an issue. I will remove 1 pysker so i can get the points to add the Inq w/mystics.

Now to run vendettas i really only see running them in pairs as the most viable way to do it. I would like to get scoring units in them. Im wondering if i should drop enough vets to add 2 vendettas plus a bare bones pcs squad w/2 inf squads. No specials just get scoring squads in them.

I agree with Dumpl, get a valk or two. Also, what about making the Chimeras half have heavy flamer, and the other half have heavy bolters.

2x Hydra Battery 150

Leman Russ Demolisher: Sponson Plasma Cannons
205

Leman Russ Vanquisher: Hull Lascannon, Commander Pask

TOTAL: 1747

this would give me the ability to run 2 vandettas w/ scoring units. the 2 inf squads would go in vendettas and the inq w/mystics would embark in the inf squad chimera.

the biggest issue i have just lost 9 melta shots and really changes my army composition drastically.

Thats a better and more dangerous list.

'the biggest issue i have just lost 9 melta shots and really changes my army composition drastically. '

Thats easy - you've gained the vendetta's high strength, Low AP shots. Drop your now unnecessary plasma guns from the veterans, replace with melta, and you save 15pts for something more useful.

The Heavy flamers have served me well. with the vet list im pretty much moving with the tanks so the heavy flamers give me a nice template of death when the enemy gets too close. I however think the new list may benefit from having the PCS chim and chim that will be given to the inq squad run with heavy bolters. Since these 2 chims will be more static than the others.

If nothing else trust me on this, give the PCS HF, 3x FL

That unit has done more damage for me than any other against any kind of infantry MEQ and Termis included.

Otherwise very solid changes, you should enjoy it. Mech Vets is a very fun list to play.
