Ok, so i am 100 percent new to here, and i was just wondering if any one could help me decide what would be good to make a 500 pt eldar army (Iyanden). I am currently low on cash, and only hav about $140. But luckily, i already hav a box of Dire avengers if that helps. The only time i can go to my GW Is like next sunday, so please reply soon.
I am thinking of buying:
Farseer With singing spear
3 eldar Jet Bikes
And a wraithlord (To kinda fit the Iyanden theme)

500 points will get you

farseer: guide and spear-88

3 Jet bikes: 1-> shuriken cannon-76

10 dire avengers: exarch, defend, bladestorm, ss/pw-177

Wraithlord: Brightlance, missle launcher-155


total: 496

You have the jetbikes to grab objectives, the dire avengers(with the seer hopefully) to claim/contest another, and your wraithlord sticks nearby with the anti tank weapons or, if need be, str10 melee.

falconlance has put up a good list, however wouldn't an eldar battleforce + farseer (or autarch) be a better choice in terms of models and long term usability as the army grows?

In fact, my tactic often revolves around destroying those guys as quickly as possibly, or trying to make sure they cant EVER get line of sight.

Dark reapers would be a LOT of points sunk into a 500 pt army. I have real trouble fielding effective Eldar armies at less than 1000 points. I believe the reason is that Eldar thrives on having a wide variety of units rather than a few types on the field, and 500 points doesn't give as much flexibility.

I think the battleforce is the way to go though in terms of value.
