I have what appear to be 5 DE guys with wings and rifles and i have no idea what they are or if they are worth trying to trade or sell.

Can any of you DE guys enlighten me?

They are most likely Dark Eldar Scourges. I haven't played Dark Eldar since 3rd edition though, so I can't say much as to their effectiveness nowadays, unfortunately.

Yep, scourges.

They can take 4 splinter cannons in a squad (and, as jump infantry, can deep strike and shoot a hatful of dakka at targets you want hurt - like guard platoons).

Although, I've not seen scourges in a DE army since 3rd ed, myself. Wych cult became the new black with the changed codex.

Haha, no. They're still using their original codex, which is like, over ten years old now. Some of us are hoping for a new one, but I don't think anything is confirmed yet.

I've heard bad things about Scourges, but I'd put 'em up on Ebay and see if anyone wants 'em here just to be sure.

What I meant by their "changed codex" was that the 3rd ed codex was given a few altered pages and a big "2nd edition" 'stamp' on the cover - which has led many to believe that they were in fact a playable faction in 2nd ed (they weren't even extant then).

It's pretty much wych cult armies that are still played at our tournies (only by top-tier players, though. They've even beaten orks with them).

Most people don't play them because their models are pig-ugly (save for a few). They are being redone/redesigned for a 2010 release.

They might be worth more if you hold out for the re-release (or maybe not, if the new models look much better)

Scourges unfortunately tend to be a bit of a points sink. They are way too fragile and far too expensive in points for what they can do (Pity because the models and idea of them are sweet!) Like the others suggested maybe chuck it up on Ebay and see if anyone bites.

I'm going to i just need to strip them first.
