Hey all,

When playing Capture and control objectives, two of my friends insist that a troops choice squad must be over 50 % to claim an objective, is this true ? we are playing 5th addition and I have a feeling that this is a 4th addition rule when other types of squads could cap objectives as well, I cant see anything in the new rules saying you have to be above 50 % but it has become one of those things which I know my friends will argue with me about, I pretty much just need somebody to clarify, because I know they like to stick stuff in stupid places in the rule book , so i might have missed it. I did check to see to see if there were any other threads on this, but I couldn't find any, I know this is probs a bit of an obvious question that most people will know, but as i said before its just to clarify so I don't have to argue with my m8s on our next game

Troop choices claim objectives. If you have one lonely guardsman left (ork, beakie, whatever), he can claim the objective. There is nothing in the exceptions section of scoring units in the rulebook that says the troops must be above half strength. You friends are trying to cheese you.

Thanks, that 50 % rule screws them over to, more so me though because my army doesn't have as many troops as theirs, we don't often play this scenario so we are a bit rusty on the rules for it, we normally just like to try an annihilate each others army's.

A new day, a new time zone.

Anyone arguing that a unit has to be over 50% is wholly working under a hold over from fourth edition. These days, so long as you have a single gaunt who's not running, that's enough to claim an objective.
