I was just thinking the other day if the Necrons and Tyranids have any animosity to each other. Necrons have no organic matter and so are absolutly of no use to the Tyranids and would the Necrons consider them just bugs and not even bother or are they a higher enough form of life for the Necrons to want them destroyed.

Tyranids are shown to purposely avoid Necron tombworlds, most likely for this very reason; on the other hand, I'd imagine Necrons would have no qualms about exterminating 'Nids as they hate all forms of life. The C'tan may also feel the massive psychic presence of the hivemind constitutes a threat and seek to destroy the higher Tyranid life forms like the Norn Queens.

And once that happens, the hive mind would set about destroying Necrons to remove a threat.

Of course, there is also the conspiracy theory that the Tyranids are new servants for the C'tan.

I don't think will see a nid necron confrontation for the very reasons stated above nids want food necrons want some damn peace and quiet. Nids avoid necrons quieting the galaxy in the process move on and leave the necrons to the empty galaxy they wanted.

What it's going to come down to is that the tyrinids will be found as a quick and easiy dinner the tyrinids strike back now both sides have some dead guys. BUT, OH WAIT! The necrons would just repair, the Tyrinids would regrow and we repeat cycle with the Necrons getting a cheap meal and the Tyrinids will just keep being tyrinids. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yummy, nothing like souls to get you going in the morning

The necrons are looking to kill al 'life' and absorb all the energy for the C'Tan.
Tyranids seem a pretty big stumbling block to that purpose.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Tyranids at the very least avoid them. The necrons tend to be on dead planets and in the tyranid codex a hive fleet went around a necron dyson sphere.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

I'm honestly shocked the nids and 'crons don't fight alot.

Tyranids devour any organic matter, and necrons are made of living metal.

also, the C'tan want life energy, and the tyranids are purely life.

they both want what the other has. so why don't they wage some constant war between the two?

tyranids wouldn't eat Necrons. Except maybe pariahs. Which don't WBB anyway.

Necrons tend to have nightmare fields and psychic horror generators that nids find repugnant, so they tend not to attack those places, but they would eat necrons if they got in the way.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Lookin' fur daemons ta' fight!

I think the necrons would still try to exterminate the nids, but they probably cant because the nids are numberless.
