With all the criticism leveled against them over Green Dam the Reds have hit back by accusing Google of spreading pr0n and cultural pollution in China.

Youtube and blogspot have been blocked for months and now google.com is on the list. The neutered version google.cn is still up but it has build in censor programs.

The funny part?

Google.com is my homepage, so when I went online I got a page not found error. I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why my connection was down before it occured to me it was Red Chinese censorship not my connection.

SIGH.

I actually have a friend in Hong Kong, he is a banker. He is on Facebook/ the net all the time which includes political stuff. I do not know if he has the same firewall problems. He is on the other hand a diplomat-type he probably knows what he is doing.

I live in the US and I wouldn't move to DC if somebody paid me to.....

I'd move to the sattelite states in the surrounding states.

I quite enjoyed Washington DC when I visited and I wasn't even an international man of mystery like KK...

Like he said, HK still has a free internet and fairly free press (though there is commerical pressure to toe the party line).

But here... not so much.

DC is sort of step up for me, it'll be a cool job but I'll miss being overseas.
