Hello everybody,
I am coming back to the Warhammer world after 6 years or so of absence. I played Dwarves through junior high and high school, but then all my good gamer friends left for college and I later joined the army and sadly my gaming fell by the wayside... well no more! We have reconnected and are eager to reignite our wars of old, but this time in the ruined cities of the distant future. I am in Iraq currently and am building up my IG army. I know that it is perhaps foolish but I want my 1500 point army to be painted and ready for combat when I get back home in 6 months. It isn't foolish because the task is impossible, but rather that I will be building up this entire army without ever playing an actual game of 40k. Thanks to the army I have time and money to play with, but no opponents, so I am sort of doing it all blind. I joined this forum to gather up intel from those who have played and know how effective things work in game as opposed to in my mind when I look at the stats on paper. When I go home I will be playing against mostly three people; they play an ork swarm with minimal heavy units, a space marine army that is devoid of any tanks, and a heavily tank reliant IG army. My main goal though is to produce a versatile force to be competitive against a variety of opponents, not just the three that I would play most... but yes, I do want to be able to crush them in particular.
Excited to be here,
Nay
