Ever see that show How it's Made, where they tell ya how different everyday things get made? anyone think it would be cool to see a GW version? Talking about how they come up with a new model, like concept sketches, prototype models, the casting process (for metals and plastics) and stuff like that?

I think it would be cool, even if it was a few plain ole youtube videos.

I'd love to see that, but they need to bring the narrator of How it's Made along.

Anywho sillyness aside, that would be a super awesome show! Id watch/tivo then watch again for sure. And I want a better answer then, "well they fill in molds with melted plastic, let cool and youve got a mini. Now onto how to make rocket skates"

Here is a link to their Forums from the Science Channel Website, How It's Made, Talk to Us link. I see a forum for it but its not started by an actual Science Channel person. I'm gonna keep searching for an actual "show idea" comment area and I encourage everyone else to look as well, if anyone finds it first, post back here and then we'll inundate them with the idea.

When I first went to Warhammer World (don't think they were actually calling it that then) there was a door at the side of the shop with a glass window, and if you looked through you could see a guy casting stuff. He was doing Marines when I was there, must be over 10 years ago now' He'd pull them all out, sort through and toss a few duds back in the melting pot.

Mr. Rogers had a segment on Picture Picture years ago where they went to a Testor's or Revell plant to show how model cars were made.

They used to do Factory tours at the Memphis Battle Bunker on one Friday night a month but not enough people came for it, so they stopped doing it. They had to do it on slow days, but they ramped up production last year so they stopped doing the tours and finally closed the bunker, so that's that.

I'm sure you could arrange a tour at one of the smaller companies, I chit chatted with a guy from Black Tree Designs when he was in Texas for a half hour on the phone talking about the good old days when Jervis and Andy used to cast miniatures and answer customer service calls and design the game rules..
