I'm getting sick and tired of my friend's bragging and his new "aura" when he plays fantasy. Ever since he's beaten my Dark Elves and Orcs and Goblins, he's acting like he's "Finally beat me and have become the King of Fantasy."

I'm sick and tired of his Bretonnians and his "My army is obviously better than yours" BS. So any tactics against Bretonnians with Dark Elves?

Lord on dragon with pendant of khaeleth, sword of rhuin, blood armour (absolute gold with the sword of rhuin) shield, sea dragon cloak.
Sorceress (lev 1) with 2 dispel scrolls
2 Hydras
x4 units of 10 shades. 2 units have great weapons.
x3 units of 5 dark riders with repeater crossbows, and musos
x2 units 5 harpies

Rest of pionts as you like.

No real core to your army.
No standards to give up.
Very fast moving.
Heapes of firepower.
3 terror causers, all with breath weapons.
Harpies and the dragon can march block.
The shades hide at the edge of terrain and shoot, shoot shoot. A bret unit goes in and they are stuck in the terrain for the rest of the game, and at the end the shades with great weapons will make a hell of a mess of brettonians.
Dar riders zip around, redirecting, bait and flee and shoot.

Essentially a really, really annoying points denial WE army, but better.

What I actually found works is a unit of 25 Spearmen with a BSB with Dread Banner.

As his Lances are 9 men strong, regardless of me being flanked I can still outnumber him due to causing fear.

In ur gaem, killin ur doodz.

Access to the Lore of metal? -- I honestly don't know
Win

Use lots of light cavalry and flee from charges all over the place.

Dragon character in to the flank of one or two units of heavy cavarly, start with the most espensive ones, and work your way down.

Breath weapons from behind are fun for the whole family.

The trick to beating a brettonian? flee from his charges and counter charge.... that's it. one or two dead brettonian units on his first failed charge will ruin his day. The trick, is to go first and march forward on the first turn to like 17 or 18 inches away, then when he marches forward again, try to get to like 6-8 inches away. Then when he charges, you flee, and it leaves those beautiful, golden flanks exposed to the rest of your line.

Unless the dread banner does something other than cause fear, it won't matter if you outnumber him. The Knights, assuming they pass their fear test, will kill enough spearmen to win the combat.

What?

Vengis, I'd win because I outnumber him with fear causers. They'd need a good 16 kills to stop outnumbering me.

Cryonic.

You also need to WIN while outnumbering and causing fear

Then they would need to roll something other than double ones on their two rolls.

It's the "Winning" part that's the tough part.

Yeah Brettonian players should dread Fast Cav.

Go with Waagh-Gonad's idea. I would like to see the look on your buddies face when he charges your harpies (they flee) and he gets hit in the flank with Shades and Darl riders.

If you really want to be a dick run a caldren BSB. some spearmen (they do nothing) and three big blocks of black guard. Stubborn next to a BSB means they will hold against the charge. Then simply give one killing blow one turn and watch the brets fly.

Stubborn is the bane of brets.
