You can also get a multi-melta arm from forgeworld. Best bet though, is to find someone with an AOBR dread and trade them for one of your weapon arms.

When the dread box was done, TL Las and Assualt Cannon were the best options for the dread. Now it's MM, TLAC, TLFL but the box hasn't kept up.

"What you want a plastic Death Copter? Well you'll just have to buy three, with all this stuff... Why doesn't the Dreadnought come with it's default weapon? Well it's not because we want you to buy an Assault on Black Reach set or anything like that, no we want you to buy two. Maybe get some for your friends as well, they might let you have the Dreadnought. What about the other weapons you ask? Well yes the two Autocannons are cool.. Yeah we also know that it costs $30 Aud for them from Forge World and $69 for the Dreadnought from us, what's the problem with that? It's only a $99 Dreadnought, it's not like it's three figures or anything outragious like that"

Yes, I'm sure it was a cunning plan. They said "lets put the best guns in the current edition into the boxset and then two more editions down the line we'll change it so they want different ones and have to buy a really good value starter box with a dreadnaught model that's nice enough that they might not bother buying the expensive one. Wait..."

The Assault on Black Reach set is a great deal even after the price hike. You can easily buy one, snag what you need, and trade/sell the rest. The contents are good enough that there is a market for most of the miniatures that it comes with.

SURE lets spend the cash on the set, take 1 piece, and pray that someone actually wants to buy the rest of the set. Because God knows there isnt 10 million others trying to sell the same box kit.

Id say make one, or suck it up and buy one

In the last month alone, I've had two guys ask me if I had any AOBR minatures for sale, and they were looking for either all the marines or all the orks. The demand is out there.

It's worth noting that the socket on the interior of the AOBR dread MM arm is smaller than the socket on every other dreadnought arm in existence.

As such, if attempting to procure a MM dread arm, you'll want to procure an entire AOBR dread to minimize conversion. Of course, the AOBR dread is almost a single piece model, incapable of separating at the waist for easy storage, so plan ahead accordingly when determining transportation of your army.

I ended up converting a MM arm from a plastic SoB Immolator MM and the Lascannon arm for the normal dread. Now all my sockets match and my dreads separate at the waist for storage (and torso twist!)

Keep the assault cannon It is better then the MM on the other hand You could just buy it from (Neil The War store/The War store) You can buy individual bits there with like $3.50 shipping on everything mostly all time in stock. I highly recommend them if you want to get a MM or any other Dreadnought weapon personally I would say if you want A MM get a Lascannon there better.

They dont as far as just sticking them on. But its easy enough to slice off the nub from one arm and pin it to the dred. Honestly that type of conversion is about as basic as it gets. Aside from putting a different SM head on another SM

Well honestly that depends on what type of battle your in, and what you want the Dred to do. Sure the lasconnon has better stats, but it costs more. AND if you have the range of the MM shot it penetrates armor better then a lascannon.
Same deal with the assault cannon. Depends on what your doing. There are alot of times the MM will be the better choice

Thanks for the coments guys i think the ABOR i dea would be good but since the marines are all one piece and the dont like them and to sell the stuff could be a hassle i was thinking of trying to make a multi melta using the lass cannon

You could take a Lascannon Dread arm and get two multi-melta barrels from a Demolisher and hack off the Lascannon barrels and replace them with the multi-melta barrels. It could also work if you have extra Crusader Sponson mounted multi-meltas or multi-meltas from a land speeder or attack bike laying around, but you will have to hack on them to make them fit on to the Dread arm. You could make it into a TL Heavy Flamer by gluing (or magnetizing) a pair of heavy flamer nozzles from a Leman Russ in place of the Multi-Melta barrels. I've also discovered that the Dreadnought Heavy Flamer makes a perfect heavy flamer for Land Speeders, too.

I made a twin-linked Autocannon arm by clipping off the Lascannon barrels and the electrical cabling off the bottom to make it look less like a lascannon. I took a couple autocannon from a Cadian Heavy Weapons crew and cut the barrels off and glued them in place of the lascannon barrels. I then used a nailfile to sand the bottom edge of a couple of autocannon magazines flat and glued them to the shoulder in the appropriate places. I can't remember who did it, but I got the idea from somewhere.

You don't need to magnetize, IMO. All you need is a drill bit and a hobby knife to solve this problem.

I drilled out the peg holes on my AoBR dread's arms so they would fit correctly on a standard dread.

Then I simply added some shims to the arm-pegs of the AoBR dread so it would then accept all standard dread arms.

People who are cutting off pegs, pinning, etc are doing a lot of etc work in my opinion. For more than is necessary.

I think permanently gluing the arms on is slowed, unless you absolutely know what you want. I don't have dozens of dreads, just two - so I want to experiment and possibly change up my builds when playing different games (Apoc, CoD, PlanetStrike, etc)

GW is really bad about not including all the weapons any given unit can take. That is really my only problem with the company.

Yeah, Plastic Koptas are bad. Let's just pay $90 for 3. Yeah, totally.

Still, I'd try to magnetize those arms.
