So, semi-recently I had a go at converting a truescale (chaos!) marine for =][=munda, unfortunately my group decided against an =][=munda campaign. I rather liked the model though, and it continually catches my eye, demanding that I allow it to crush the imperium. I have decided to incorporate him into a full squad, who will be used as movie marines during friendly games.

Now, I could keep rambling, or show pics. I know what you would prefer....

Here is the original model (PIP) that inspired the project (WIP shots to follow)

I was fairly happy with him, a few things felt a bit off (the leg length and groin aria), so I took a lot of tips from the many wonderful truescale blogs on DakkaDakka , B&C, and warseer for my next model.

Sill very WIP, with earlier WIP pics to follow.

the rivits are giving me problems, if anyone has any advice on making these (I don’t have access to a hobby store, the closest is 2 hours away) I would love to hear it. Otherwise I like his progress so far. the GS still has a fair amount of smoothing to be done, but that will be one of the last steps.

WIP pics from both models:

Any feed back would be great. I am fairly new to sculpting armor (lots of daemonic stuff under my belt, but that is easy enough)

Also working on a truescale chaos biker (will be a Doomrider tribute), who will be randomly updated.

Thanks for any replies!

Nice stuff.

I like the bone effect on the shoulder pad of the first guy.

I have heard the term 'movie marine' before but not sure what it means...

well, it is basically a marine list built to let marines fight like they do in the fluff. any lone marine could wrestle down a hive tyrant, and lay a withering torrent of firepower from their bolter. needless to say, they are quite points intensive (a single marine being 100pts, a single squad in 1500).

thanks for the comment!

The torsos, or pelvises, can't tell, are too long. The limbs are winners, though.

hmm, you may be right on that. ill see what can be done.

Did a bit of GS work last night, filled a few gaps, added some extra detail to the chest peice, and the straps on the sword. also did some detailing on the bare sholder pad I am unhappy with, so no pics of that.

thanks for your comments

fantastic paint job sir, and awesome conversions! Are you going to stick with movie marines or is this going to evolve into a full blown army?

How are we supposed to give criticism with no pics?

no pics? there should be 15 so far, do you have a block on your browser?

the current plan is for movie marines, but a full army might grow from it. the movie marines will also be joined by a truescale rhino (with swapable razorback turret). ive considered doing 3 squads joined by superheavys for apoc too.

Thanks to all those who left comments so far, it helps one stay motivated! (i have a tendancy to drift between chaos projects)

I have tomorrow and Tuesday off, so they should see some work (in between my rush to finish my call of chaos oaths on B&C).

I am a big doomrider fan, really irked me that he hasn’t been brought into newer editions of the chaos dex. The model will probably see use the rules of a winged prince, apart from the, oh so rare, games we allow custom characters. I have an issue with his right shoulder pad at the moment (it sucks), need to scrap that and start over.

Since we are on the Doom rider subject, my girlfriend gave me an idea I am interested in getting feedback on. I am a big fan of the legend of sleepy hollow (book), and am considering going for the headless horseman theme. on the plus side, I get a headless hessian, on the downside, I move away from the doomrider theme.
Opinions?

What are you using for those brass cables that make up part of the bionic leg on the second guy?
