I really like the new medusa, but don't want to wait untill it comes out. So I decided to build my own, but how?

1. I looked on the FW site to see how it looks like, I chose the Armageddon pattern medusa with the enclosed crew compartment

2. Things I need: styrodur(foam), plastcard, greenstuff, a barrel (I took a "playmobile" pirate cannon) and a CSM rhino hatch

3. Cutting the form of the turret from foam:

4. Glueing plastcard around the rough form:

5. Now greenstuffing the recesses:

  • 6. Adding rivets and a frame around the barrel attachment:

    7. Adding the CSM Rhino hatch, sth like an antenna and bags:

    8. Paint it!

    9. Add a chimera chassi:

    Hope you enjoy it!

    That looks really great.

The Armageddon pattern stuff looks so awesome, if only because it looks like more modern and real world artillery.

I haven't seen the actual one yet. Does the turret look too big for the chassis in it, as well? This thing looks like it would tip over when it fired.

Awesome work on that turret. It turned out nice. That chassis just looks too short for it, though.

    Here's the original:

As you can see, it's a really big turret

    It's not actually a turret.
It's an armoured shell around the gun. The gun mount itself is a fixed mount (like the bassie).

That is a very excellent point.

The Armageddon pattern stuff is just modeled on more modern self propelled artillery guns.

Your model and the orignal look pretty identical imo the gun on both models to big but thats just me
But i do notice that your version's gun is a little to high compared to the original but if you take that
factor away its fine compaired to the original

to go with the steel legion german ww2 theme.

although it does bare a stunning resemblance to an as90

Very nice armored compartment, but as has been said, the compartment does not rotate. Also, you might want to remove the lasguns and old chimera turret mount.

It's not my chimera, I only put the "turret" on it to show how it would look like. Now that I know that the turret is actually not a turret I can build the final modell with my own chimera chassis.
