Hey there. I did just post this in the General Discussion's section & someone suggested that I might get more response in this section.
Last week sometime I added several Tyranid photo's of my Army to my page.
In a bid to get some more views, comments & ratings I am posting this Blog in the hope that if you get a moment to spare you might be able to look upon them.
Any feed back welcome, good or bad. However if you do wish to criticise my work, please try and make your comments a little more constructive than - 'Your work sucks'.
Thanks
Klueless.

As suggested by the guy below. My Tyranid pictures, to save you the trouble of looking through my profile.
Thanks legoburner

You should post pictures of them here as well to make it easier for people to find them like this:

just copy and paste the 'forum' code box from the gallery image page for each image you want to share here.

As for the above carnifex, I think it looks good and the colours work well. It is also nice and neat. The only things I could suggest would be to use a wash or shading on the teeth as they are a bit too bright (your other fex has great teeth though), and to maybe work on painting more texture into the carapace so that it looks like a different surface texture compared to the skin. The most common way this is done on tyranids is by painting thin lines of relatively bright colour to make it look like boney carapace and you have done this to a point on the talons, but not on the main carapace from what I can see.

Does that fex have six arms?

Thanks very much for the tips. They have been logged.
The talons just came out like that actually. But I'm glad you think they look good. I know exactly what you mean about the highlight technique, I just haven't really played around with it much. The way i actually paint them is....
Spray black (unassembled)
Heavy Dry Brush Gore Red, Light Dry brush Blood red.
Water down some black Ink, then smother the model in it, rubbing off the excess. I do this repeatedly until the model looks suitably done. Then pick out the talons, teeth etc. Then i glue it together & touch up the glue/green stuff marks. Prob a bit of a backwards way of painting, but i find it easier than trying to sneak into the small nooks & crannies if you glue it first. I only do this on my big models. I do glue the smaller guys before i paint them. Saves time.
I get what your saying about the teeth, i do like the intimidating look of some gleaming gnashers though.
Really appreciate your comments.
Will look into highlighting.
Thanks

Yes he does dude. It was actually quite simple to do. It just required some filing down of the Balls of the army joints to create two flat surfaces to stick together, then some green stuff, or blue tac (i find blue tac works just as well if you add glue to it.) to even out the gaps & make it look like a real arm joint.
I do not try & claim the extra attack from my opponents, i am aware they are only allowed two sets of Scything talons. I just think it looks cool.
Thanks for your comment.
Much appreciated.

I voted on them (nice work btw) despite having to come back to this post each and every time to click on a new picture. Not your fault Kluelss. The Dakka Gallery is just atrocious to use. :(

Not to derail the thread, but you can just click on one of the above images, then choose 'same gallery' from the drop down beneath the voting buttons. This will then show you every image in this specific gallery that you've not yet seen/voted on.

These all look awesome! The 6 scythed fex is really cool, everything about it's pose says "I'm p**s&d off and I intend to eat you".

The brood nest is really well done too, got a nice Alien feel to it.

P.S. somebody drinks a lot of tonic water!
