Hey, my friend recently added the masque to his chaos army and when we went to field her he noticed she is the only HQ in the list of HQ's available to chaos that does not have the IC special rule (ignoring the Greater Deamons because they are MC). So he couldn't field her with a squad of deamonettes or anything else if he wanted to. I mean, she is kind of a bitch with her eternal dance, but still. With only 2 wounds and a T of 3 she was pretty easy to take down.

Is this a typo that makes her the only HQ w/o IC or RAI?

LE GASP! The RaI is what the Authors wrote? SUCH BLASPHEMY! I suppose that could never happen. Quick, pull TMIR out so you can change it. While you are at it, lets change it so that Daemons all cost 50% of what the codex says, TMIR says we can do that too!

Sorry to rant, but threads like this annoy me. The codex doesn't say it is an IC, so it isn't.

I wasn't saying it was wrong, it just struck me as odd.

Christ, I don't care that she's not IC, taht means she always by herself and easily targeted, we just assumed she was until my friend noticed she wasnt and had to not add her to a squad of other units.

Read her background - the masque is forced to dance for ever and as such really couldnt end up in a unit....

Oh yeah, the whole reason I was concerned was my having to deal with that 3x forced movement and have to eat up like a whole squad to get to her. So we looked and it didn't say IC. I was bored @ work this morning and thought I would pose the question. I don't play deamons and he literally just picked her up Sat, so I thought I would ask a question and aggroed an angry Gwar.

The Fantasy Daemons army book version of the Masque has the special rule "Can not join units".

Granted, two books for two games, but the fact that the Fantasy version has the equivalent rule spelled out is certainly evidence in favour of the RAI being that she is NOT an IC.

Bit of an over-reaction here. The same question also came up fairly often when it was realized that Sammael isn't an IC any more. It's such a rare occurrence that a Special Character isn't an IC (ESPECIALLY when the SC is an HQ choice as well), that it really begs the question. Lay off the Redbull and Rum breakfast shakes. :-p
