I'm trying to make an army list, but I have a collection of stuff from up to ten years ago that I bought before they had/before I realized there were certain limitations to what pieces I could use.

One of them is the Screaming Bell.

Is there any way around the rule that an army less than 2000 points cannot have a Grey Seer, thus a Screaming Bell cannot be used either?

I'm pretty sure you cannot, but I don't have my army book in front of me right now. You may want to have this thread moved to a Fantasy tactics to get some more advice on the list.

That being said, I can't remember the last time I didn't play a Fantasy game that was at least 2000pts, so as former skaven player myself, I never really saw it as much of an issue.

Tombworld El'Lahaun 2500pts
Hive Fleet Vestis 5000pts
Disciples of Caliban 2000pts
Crimson Fist 2000pts
World Eaters 1850pts
Angels Encarmine 1850pts
Iron Hospitalers 1850 pts (Black Templar Successor)
Sons of Medusa 1850pts
Tartarus IXth Renegade Legion 2500pts

Yeah, no way to get that in under 2000 points.

2012- stopped caring
Nova Open 2011- Orks 8th Seed---(I see a trend)
Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)
Adepticon 2011- Combat Patrol Best General

Yeah, sorry. No Lords at less than 2000 points.

I was considering being the third to say "Yeah, what he said." Then instead, I was trying to think of some 'counts as' way around your dilemma, but given that the screaming bell exists as is, you're kinda locked in. I've seen Doom Wheels count as Warp Lightning Cannons and so forth, but I think you're stuck.

So make it to 2000!

I would think a seer on bell with 100 points in toys gets you decently close to 2k as is

I wasn't clear on that either... can I use the points cost of a Grey Seer + Screaming Bell to reach 2000 pts or do I need the 2K beforehand?

2000 points covers the whole army, including characters and their toys. So yes, the Seer of course counts.

Only input:
Grey Seer+ Screaming bell= around 475 pending toys.
Stormvermine, with shield, command, magic banner, enough to outnumber= around 300-370 pending how deep and what weapon team.

Before ANYTHING else, your about and easiy 775-845, before your addl 2 other core choices, which are probably clanrats.

Technically, in friendly (I.E. with friends) game you could have a 1,500 battle that, for that one game only, allows you to take 1 Lords choice.
