Never really thought of myself as much of a painter, but i was pleasantly surprised at how this turned out in the end. I should probably base him, but I'm not likely to use him in a game any time soon

You should base him, even if you're not gaming, the base is to a miniature as a frame is to a painting.

Anyway, I don't think of myself as much of a painter either, but I've found everything slightly improving as I keep practicing. Your model is pretty good, I like it, my only suggestion is to thin your paints a bit more

Good work

Cheers for the comments! You think paint thinning will help keep a bit more detail, I guess the skulls in particular look a bit gloopy .

Yeah, maybe on the cape and skulls, red and white are hard colors to paint, but everything else looks good

Impressive effort. You could probably have done with pulling the camera back slightly. Due to the nature of painting, extreme close ups of miniatures never do a paint job justice, not even ones by 'Eavy Metal.

If you thin your paints I think you'll find that you get much better results, but that's pretty good nonetheless.

The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.
