Hey everyone, I found out unfortunately as I was assembling the Assaault on Black Reach that you do not in fact glue Koptas to their Stand because they break easily...

So the Aftermath of months of handling is over 12 Koptas with a chunk of the stand broken off inside of it... Is there anything I could do to Salvage these koptas, besides turning them into bikes or buggies (I really want to run Koptas).

You can drill out the remains of the flying stand with a pin-vise and then pin the koptas to the flying stands. This will increase their durability.

I had a similar thing happen to me last week. I drilled a hole big enuff for what was left of the top of the flying base to fit snuggly(twice as big as existing hole) centered on the old hole with lodged plastic in it. 2 min.

Thats a good way of doing it, the little tips break easilly, but the stands themselves are pretty solid.

Other than that build a semi-scenic base and use a stiff wire.

You could also try magazining your flying base if you have the tools to do it.

I'd like to hear more since I am working on DeffKoptas. There's no way that these will balance on those stands during a game. I was going to glue mine, too. Is it pure folly to do so? Am I setting myself up for failure if I choose to glue the stand to the Kopta as-is?

What I did when this happened to me was to drill out the bit of stand with a 2mm drill bit+pin vice, then cut the entire plastic stand bit of the flying base, I then superglue+greenstuffed an L-shaped piece of wire coat hanger to the flying stand.

yes, yes you are... They are fragile if they are glued to the base. The only way to get away with it, is if you keep them standing upright at all times, transport them in foam, and never drop them... If they fall at any angle but straight down, expect half of the stand to break off.

My friend said that you can buy a magnetic ball bearing and have the koptas magnetized... that is what I am going to do so that way they can land...
