i have an argument with my friends that they say that if my SM with a plasma weapon fail to save the Gets Hots save, the model with the plasma weapon has to remove, so i lost my plasma weapon. i can not read anything about Gets Hot! will destory the weapon, so please tell me, is that ture that if i fail the Gets Hot! save, i have to remove the model with plasma weapon instead pick another one?

please forgive my spelling, i am still learning English.

Hi again, this should also be in the "you make the call" section.

Yes if the plasma bearer overheats you lose the plasma gun (actually makes sense with the fluff which is rare for GW).

Just to bring a sense of normality:

If a Model fails a "Gets Hot!" save, that specific model must take the wound.

Errr... i am not tony sorry.

for me, i feel it does not make sense. if the overheat will destory the weapon, then the model should lose its weapon whenever it roll 1 on hit. if a model has multi-wounds then the weapon can overheat multi-time. so the overheat does not destory the weapon, only the model carry it.

i think the rule for Gets Hot! states that the carrier take the wound is preventing people uses other model to allocated the Gets hot! wound from an independant character.

maybe i am silly, that is what i feel.

Yes, that is exactly why it is like that.

Page 31, BRB - Gets Hot! says "For each result of a 1 rolled on it's to hit rolls, the firing model suffers a wound (normal saves apply)". Is this in any way unclear? Unless that firing model can somehow avoid taking the wound through some special rule (such as Inquisitors allocating it on their Acolytes) then that firing miodel will have to take it himself.

As for the fluffy bits: The gun just vaporized it's user so the machine spirit must be very, very angry... Best let it cool down and have a techpriest retrieve it later.

Would YOU pick up a plasma weapon where the magnetic containment cells have ruptured, cooking the previous guy inside his armour?

Didn't think so.

Don't forget: You CAN take a save vs the wound.
Which is always my logic when explaining why a person would want to pick plasma:

"You get an Armour Save, the Target doesn't."

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

I thought with the allocating wounds rule it mentions the weapon being rendered unusable in the death of it's previous user hence why you must allocate wounds to standard guys individual characters in the unit and speciality weapons in the unit as you could still loose a big weapon in a normal round of shooting if enough wounds were caused and you failed the save.
