Thoughts and intense criticism welcome. This is not for competition just for play against friends, but I still want to win.

I would dump the Pathfinders and go with full Fire Warrior squads or more Devilfish Transports. The 6 man squads will disapper very quickly in the open or even in cover. With out bonding knifes they will most likly fail second turn and you will lose your ability to hold objectives and give up easy KPs. Also, do not take shield drones, take gun drones. The points you save can be put on other things plus the gun drones can take one for the team when it comes to AP 1 & 2 shots.

He has bonding knifes on the first two units but your list is a little unfocused. You need larger squads or transports for your troops. Your first squad of crisis is all over the place and combining fusion w/missile pods is....not good...

Drop one of the weapons on the commander crisis suit. He. I'd suggest the missile launcher as I feel plasma and melta are the way to go on the suits. I don't feel like he needs the stim injector either. Nobody is going to shoot at him with light equipment. Bigger firewarior squads, with transports. KEEP THE PATHFINDERS, but drop the rail rifles. It confuses the purpose of the squad.

O God. I think I just need to write a critique for almost all of the tau lists posted and just post it whenever one shows up. Your suits are god awful. Fusion blasters sound cool right? Uhhh no. You have to be withing 6" to get your melta weapon. Hi mr. suit meet superior in assault army. O wait you did nothing but then god pwned by said army in CC or shot to death with rapidfire? Sorry for your fail. MP PR thank you for at least having 2 guys that don't fail! Positional Relay. Get rid of it NOW. No arguments. No. I'm serious, it fails so get it out. NOW. MP + Fusion blaster. When in gods name will you need a Multi-Tracker? You won't almost even have to fire then together? The combo is fail. Run PR + FB if anything but run Deathrain or PR + MP. Flamer? You have to be close to use it. It should either be a 3rd weapon option on a Deathrain or not on a Crisis. Shas'vre upgrade also isn't really needed. Keep your suits cheap and effective! FB + BC that is fail. Look above. Suicide squad. Really? You know what a mobile fusion blaster is called. Piranha. Deathrain or PR + MP. No Kroot. -.- FW are also fail. 6 man squads? Hope you are going for a tie to start with. Any mobile army will cripple you faster than you can put down those 18 guys on the table. FW's aren't as good as they sound. Kroot can do what they do and do it better and they are also cheaper. They also can get a 3+ cover save in woods and if they GTG a 2+.... Try rooting them out!!! Run a firewarrior squad per pathfinder squad. You then give your pathfinder fish (should be a Warfish!) to the FW and hide and don't EVER EVER EVER disembark them!!!! You then fill the rest with kroot with kroot hounds. Pahtfinders should be markerlighting. Why rail rifles? W00T!!! GOOD UNIT! XV88's rock. Hammerhead is also good. So in total: Your troops are there to cap objectives and the allmighty kroot are there to take assault and infiltrate into good positions and block deep strike. Suits and Heavy Support and even some fast attack will be your main firepower. Markerlight those guys and watch as they rip armies to shreds. With all the mechvet players imagine all those missile pods ripping his x-ports to shreds. It works very well! I think that you are spending to much on upgrades for the suits too. Keep them cheap to get other good units like Pirahnas with fusion blaster and fletched discharger's. Watch as orks assault that and lose around 15 boys and just laugh.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you |

Let me explain the point of the fire warrior squads. First the 9 man squad is sort of an odd number and I might change some stuff around to go for a full 12 man squad. One of the six man squads is bonded but the other is not which need s to be fixed. Most importantly let me explain why I even have two six man squads, I split them because they can can still support each other while being far enough apart to not be assaulted at the same time. By having smaller squads assault teams will only take down six guys in one turn instead of 12, leaving them open to be shot at. I found that this seams to work better when facing units that flank you, deap strike, or are very mobile such as genestealers, kroot, and vespids. But I still don't play very often so your advice is still very usefull.
I liked peoples input on the pathfinders because I have not actually built a full squad and used them so this info. helps me out alot.

You have 3 troops and plan to keep them in the open... Don't worry about the assaulters i'll break them with a round of shooting! FW's are best served hiding in a devilfish. He will take down your 6 man squads (which you plan to keep in the open LOL) and guess what? Then your troopless for objective missions and they are easy KP's.
