If I recall the new LR snap together, you could always just unsnap the top bits and make it a convertible.

Then just model Grots and Orks hanging out the top.

If it's Orks, just get a hacksaw to the top and put in some rollbars. I'd keep the front ramp so that it falls like an old Higgins landing craft from WW2.

Armies:
(CSM/HH) - Iron Warriors; Death Guard; World Eaters; Night Lords
IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)
DE - Kabal of Ouroboros

To make a great ork conversion, use plasticard! you can paint it up like a spacemarine chapter, then rust it, then cover it with plasticard plates orky glyphs and strap-on weapons. I love the convertible idea too! It will give you all the interior space to have orks running around and big trusses with a tower or something in the middle. Get creative Platforms with stuff and may by a grot doing something funny. The possibilities are endless!!

Me Orky love hackn' n' slashn' parts of stuf

Don't forget to have lots of stuff hanging off the side. Maybe a Squigoth(spelling? Those little four legged guys) with it's tounge hanging out leaning ot the edge. Kind of like a dog.
Lots of random metal pannels, maybe make some orks with any SM armour parts you might have around the place.

But, yeah I agree with making it kind of look like this.
*Imagines it smashing into the enemy, hatch opening while it is doing it and launching all the Orks out in CC fun*

Yea, I agree with the open top idea but you could try adding a cockpit or another layer on stilts if you are going for a battle wagon, or you could just copy Shak's idea O_O

If you take off the top piece tho... that leaves that whole area without tracks.... I like the idea but you would need to make more tracks for that area... If you wanted to make it more fortress like though... you could buy cities of death terrain and use the floor parts... not the walls but the square blocks... thats what i did for mine... It looks pretty sweet and you could always use it as a battle fortress for apocalypse!

Decide first what it will count as - an ork battlewagon, or an actual Land Raider for Apocalypse only? If a battlewagon, that then tells you what if any modifications it needs to match the battlewagon stats, e.g. open-topped (major sugery but looks cool, I've done it myself), less/damaged armour (could be as simple as leaving off the side doors), replacement orky weapons or whatever.

I've done something like this.

I turned the top part around so that the back became the front. Its an interesting effect on the landraider kit.

If you just cut the middle out of the top piece the treads won't be exposed. A Land raider converted to be like a ww2 assault boat would be awesome in so many ways. Can't wait to see it.

As Clang said, decide what you want the LR to be,a Looted wagon,Battle wagon etc.
then it's just a matter of adding the apropriate wepons, damage, glyphs and such.
Adding extra armour plating using plasticard is a great way to "ork up " any vehicle and is easy to do,and making ork glyphs out of plasticard is also somthing you may want to try.
The great thing is,you can let your imagination run wild and so long as you stay within "rules perimitors" you can create a very unique vehicle that's one of a kind.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Try sticking two sets of LR tracks on like Dave in GW's plague tower, that is AWESOME! He was making it on Saturday out of about six different kits and two bastions O_O

Just remember, when it comes to Orky-fying things, you need to really plan out your ideas and the general direction your wanting to go. I google searched a ton of robot arms, and steampunk ideas for my Unta mini. I really didnt use most of them, but still the folder on my PC is packed with pictures. Its just a good way to get the feel of what your wanting to do.
Good luck!

why not add parts from other kits like make it have a boomgun such as an earthshaker cannon from a basilisk kit or parts from da orks kits either that or make it convertible

COVER IS FOR THE WEAK
