I've got a new SM chapter that's predominantly black and I'm trying to figure out how to properly highlight the edges of their armor plates. I'm tempted to drybrush white on the edges, but that seems a little drastic. Any thoughts?

codex grey, or even codex grey mixed with black as a highlight and extreme highlights of codex grey on the corners.

Line all of your black edges with the 50/50 black and codex grey. Then hit the very edges with pure codex grey, then just the tips in a mix of 50/50 codex grey and white.

@everyone : Thanks a lot guys.

You wouldn't happen to have some good advice for highlighting golden yellow too would you?

yes - don't paint with the point of the brush when doing hard edges, but with the side of the brush. First dilute the paint slightly (& have a decent amount so you don't have to mix up more half way through). The paint should be slightly thicker than full cream milk. Use a bigger brush for mixing & rinse out after you've diluted your paint. then take a detail or fine detail brush & load the brush (not too much though - about half-way up the bristles) then run it along the hard edges of the mini with a light touch. Try out the technique on another mini first until you get the hang of it.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
