Hey there. I am a lowly gaunt. I have just been upgraded to this from a Hungry ripper.
How many posts do i have to make until i get upgraded? I noticed that it went up after 50, i hope it doesn't go up every 50!

It depends on your rank track, I think. And anyways, the numbers are sort of secret. It doesn't go up every 50 though, there are different thresholds as your post count gets higher.

If you become a DCM, you can be whatever you want though.

DCM stands for Dakka Contributing Member. It means you've made a monetary donation to the site.

There are other benefits, besides just being able to select your own title.

Finding out that you've got a new rank is part of the fun! But don't post just to up your post count. That's called spamming, and it's against the Dakka rules. It's easy to stay legit, though.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you've been doing that! I can see how you'd get that from my post; that's not what I meant.

We have seen other users do this, though, and just wanted to make sure you knew about it.

Clousseau was an old-school Dakka member who did really good conversion work. There was a bit of a tiff about a deal he did with another Dakka poster, but I don't remember what it was all about. I have fond memories of his work.
