The following piece was done by Grytz minis. The unpainted version of this model can be seen here.

This is the first time I have ever painted without a primer first. I have had to many primer issues to risk it on a 180 dollar model. I did some tests on greenstuff before starting the actual piece, and am happy with the results.
In the early stages you will notice the spikes on his crown. These bits deemed themselves to fiddly and all came off. In the later stages you will see that I have issued a field repair. Not quite as good as the original work, but i wanted a point in the center so it will do. Keep in mind that the following pictures are wip and not complete. Like my armies I am somewhat chaotic when it comes to painting and tend to skip around a bit. Hopefully the end results will turn out good for me.

They do make brush-on primers if you were worried about the spray types. Wow, 180 bones. I wish you luck in painting this piece to a standard it deserves.

Paying someone $180 to make that probably isn't even paying them minimum wage, unless they're really fast.

I think that the price tag was very fair. If anyone missed the link on the top of the page, that will take you to the unpainted miniature.

Wow Jason, just WOW! I really like hows he coming together, especially the feather cape.

I really cant wait to see it finished.

Also, in an ironic twist on something you threatened to do previously, I'm going to make another promise.
If the package is not signed for, it will be returned to me. If it is returned to me, I will set out everything that is in the box of import and burn it. I will watch it go up in flames.
The video that I shoot of it will be posted to YouTube. I will email you a link, as well as post links to it in open forums.
Remember when you threatened me that, if I sent you anything, you'd burn it and send me a link to the video, Matthew? Well, this way, you'll get what you want (burned models), regardless - MagickalMemories

Yes that is who he is. Although gw has 2 different spellings of his last name. Sometimes it is spelled as Curze and others Kurze. Please check out my personal album for more of my Night Lords.

Well it is time for another update. This will probably be the last group of photos before the finished project.

What do you think about the lighting in the last group of photographs? Is it to harsh? Questions and comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

O H I am in the Webway...

I personally think that the lighting should be a bit more rough like have more tendrils coming out of it or something but truly looking great!

Its looking really good, but personally Im not digging the lightning on it. you should try a paint pen, if you want to keep the lightning, and then drybrush around the paint pen lines for that "glow" effect.

it seems that I cant find one small enough. Even the extra fine ones seem to large for the task.

Hi

The trick to get thin lines is to use watered down paint and do it in several goes. With thinner paint, you can use just near the tip.

There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary, and those who don't.
