This is general news and rumors. If the FAQ is new, it should be here.

I'm amused that there is no errata and only FAQ's written in a "I think" or "We agreed" format.

Thanks for the heads-up. Nothing really shocking in there, but then the lizard book isn't either

Argh! The answer to the question about the puppet and the cupped hands is vintage GW. It's the attitude I hate distilled into a sentence. Frequently, the choice you make in regards to the puppet/cupped hands will determine the game's outcome. Leaving that up to the players means we might as well decide who wins. If we can do that, why are we rolling all these dice and moving all these models!

GW, if you'd rule, either way, players of both armies would take that result. So long as your official answer is "argue about it, guy who is better friends with the TO wins", it'll suck the fun from games where it comes up. The one off games where the players can just casually agree already run just fine, we just make up rules we think are appropriate. FAQ's are for touranments. Saying "figure it out yourself", is the worst possible response. Not putting the question in the FAQ would have been better, we could always hope one day you'd resolve it.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Q. There are several items that can affect
miscasts, such as Cupped Hands of the Old
Ones, Soul of Stone and Infernal Puppet. In
what order should the effects of these item be
applied?

A. There are many such combinations of rules
and magic items in the game, and we handle it
by discussing what we think should happen,
and then rolling off if an immediate answer
isn’t forthcoming.

This is just plain dumb.

At least this isn't the Space Marine FAQ all over again.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

So they release a FAQ and one of their answers boils down to "dice off".

At least they're consistent. /cough

Why, so you can read "just roll a dice for it" over and over again? You're better off without one.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I quite like the Bolt thrower vs skink/kroxigor unit explanation.

The fear caused by skink/kroxigor is pretty dumb question and is answered in the obvious way.

Q. Can Terradons Drop Rocks on the turn they
charge?
A. So long as they pass over another enemy
unit, why not!

Ouch...

Another stupid question that I found in there was the very first one. "Do Kroxigors count towards to minimum unit size of a unit of skinks?"

How does anyone even ask this question and how in the world does it get into the FAQ?

Also, Why would you ask if the attacks from a MAGICAL weapon are magical i.e. the Steggadon war-Spear and the Staff of the Lost sun? They are MAGICAL weapons and thus their attacks would be MAGICAL.

I am a Utah man sir, I live across the green, our gang is the jolliest that you have ever seen, Our co-eds are the fairest, ans each one's a shining star, our yell you'l hear it ringing through the mountains near and far.
Who am I sir? a UTAH MAN am I. A UTAH MAN sir, I will be till I die.

KI-YI

Were up to snuff, we never bluff were game for any fuss, no other gang of college men dare meet us in the MUSS. So fill your lungs and sing it out and shout it to the sky, we'll fight for dear old Crimson for a UTAH MAN AM I!!

GO UTES!!!!
