Hey kids and groupies, I realize that this isn't new to everyone, but it might be news to some:

Strategicon Strategicon Web site(http://www.strategicon.net) will be hosting a WHFB and WH40k tournament over Labor day weekend in Los Angeles, CA .
Bring your armies and practice/tune them up for your other GTs and RTTs in the region!

Point levels are set to the same as the Socal Slaughter and several other of the Independent GTs.

Go on over and pre-register on the strategicon web site.

The tournaments will be held on the first floor of the hotel, so there will be no extra hauling of miniatures up stairs to get to the gaming room, plus it will have easy access to the bar (for those that feel the need to imbibe.

Finally, they list the acceptable armies. The last 2 times I played at the convention I played against a Catachan army and an Armored Company that have not been updated for 5th edition, and have been abandoned by official GW events for a long time.


What gaming group is running this?

The hotel is the Radisson/LAX

No gaming group stepped up this time to run the tournaments, so I'm on my own this time. I will have two other judges with me to ensure fair rulings. I will be pulling from our paint and take people to judge the army painting, based on the posted criteria of the web site.

I'm not sure allan, when you played, but the Catachan army list and the Armoured company lists have both been obsoleted by the new IG codex (which incorporates both).

I'm pretty sure I went over the current web page and neithr are on the accepted army lists at this time.

This will be my first time running the tournaments, though I have helped out the Baggins group in the past, but we have invited different groups to run the tournaments in the past, trying to share the wealth among the community. After all, isn't gaming conventions about community and all of us sharing our love of gathering of gamers and games.

Every year I swear Id make it out to this thing, and every year I forget/get side tracked.

Hope this year is my year, looks fun.
