I live in the area and believe it. Some of the Philly suburbs are as wealthy WASP as anything you'll see in the South. I'm not sure where this took place, but yeah, I completely believe there would be racist-ass private clubs in the area.

Although a few days ago I saw a segment on the local news in which club members were picketing the club in support of the kids. One woman interviewed said she was at the pool at the time of the incident and that the children were well-behaved, etc., and that the pool wasn't overcrowded. So it's not like all or even most of the members are to blame. I bet it was a few with influence that complained.
