It seems that with the changes to 5th that Cpt Stern is a better value point for point than a GM. With the points you save you can buy a extra terminator to fit into a retinue ect. He also fills your 1 HQ hero hammer requirement. Opinions and thoughts contrary.

Moving to tactics which is more appropriate.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

Stern's wargear doesnt feature the best of what a GM can get utility-wise. That being said he's not a total WASTE of points...I've used him in the past and hes a nice way to get a cheaper (or second) str6 force weapon into your force.

No sacred Incense and no psycannon, GM's equipped with these are about as good as GK characters can get.

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

His reroll is nice though and pretty important if you run your whole army in Landraiders (reroll cover save from smoke).

A GK army mounted entirely in landraiders?? MADNESS !

I will guess that is about 25k points for 30 models?

GK landraider don't roll cover saves from smoke. The turn they pop thier smoke they can only suffer glancing hits per the old smoke rules.

I agree with deadshane. Often that BS5 cannon can make a big difference for a pure army.

He is nice but then he starts to break the 200pt mark and in 5th he better be pretty solid for that amount of points. The points you save are worth the exra GK term especially in a retinue.
