Ok here s the question, well 2 questions anyway question 1 is can you deploy a unit with out its dedicated and leave is back in reserve ?? Also can you say deploy the units on the table that were selected with the drop pod and instead deploy the units and leave the pod back in deep strike and then still deep strike the drop pods in later turns or on the drop pod assualt empty??? Any help asap would be sweet . Cause I need to know this so I can use what im thinkin in the ARD Boyz this Saturday. Thanks so much !!!!!!!!!!

No the units that were selected with the dedicated transport must start the game embarked on the vehicle. Reserves configurations are declared before the game starts to you would have to clearly state which units are in those drop pods.

Incorrect.
Rulebook, p.94:
Remember that a dedicated transport
can only be deployed, and consequently can only be
kept in reserve, either empty or transporting the unit it
was selected with (plus any independent characters).
The only limitation that dedicated transports have is that only the unit that purchased the transport may start the game embarked upon it. But after the game starts anyone can get in and out.
It is perfectly valid to deploy a unit on the table and keep the Drop Pod (a dedicated transport) in reserve, just as if it were a Rhino. If you keep both in reserve and don't intend the unit to come in with the Drop Pod then you'll need to roll separately for their reserves.

Droping in empty pods can be fun. Give them locator beacons maybe then deep strike in the good things. Also a good way of allowing you to decide when you want your stuff to deep strike. I really can't think of a good time to use an empty Drop Pod, besides buying them for stuff that you don't intend to use it with (Thunder Fire) and using that to raise the auto drop number on first turn.

This is the main Reason people have empty Pods. However, Pods with Beacons first turn is also another good way to use them.

Could also be used as a barracade for non-skimmer tanks. Locator beacon and drop them in a line to slow down/choke point your enemy.

Well, no offence, but perhaps you should read the rulebook before commenting on rules questions?

Yes you can but you must declare this during deployment. Durring deployment you must declare how your units in reserve weither they are deep striking or walking on the board or out flanking. You also must declare weither they are deployed in their vehicle. On turn 3 you can't decided that your deep striking marines are now getting out of their transport and walking on the board and deep striking their pod by itself if you declared they are in the pod at the beginning of the deployment.
