I just had a bit of a semi-evil idea but I'm sure someone has a reason why I can't do it, which is why I am asking.

So as far as I can tell there is no limit to the number of Hard Wired Battlesuit support systems you can take on a model eligible to take them IE hardwired targetlock, multitracker. Is there any prohibition on taking multiple systems of the same type? Could I take a Drone Controller in one of my 3 hardpoints and then take a hardwired drone controller and control 4 drones? Could I just take 16 hardwired drone controllers and control 32 drones? Could I take 2 hardwired multitrackers and fire the 3 weapons in my hardpoints in the same turn (as each multitracker would allow you to fire 2 weapons)?

Yeah, except Hard Wired XYZ is not the same as XYZ. So while you cannot take 2 Hard-wired Drone Controllers, you can take a Suit Controller and a Hard Wired Controller.

Even if you take both however, the effects are not cumulative. You have 2 Drone Controllers (One HW and One Suit), you still only get 2 Drones. 2 Multi trackers still only let you fire 2 weapons.

This is because the wargear is worded "A Model with XYZ", not "For every XYZ you have". So, a Model with a HWDC and a Suit DC is "A Model with a Drone Controller", so gets 2 Drones. If the Wording was "For Every Drone Controller a Model has", then you could have 4.

Just to be perfectly clear:
2 Drones MAX, you cannot have 4 Drones (Unless you are Shadowsun IIRC).

Ok just woke up, I looked everywhere but right at the heading of the wargear section. Note to self get coffee and then begin posting.

However why would 2 drone controllers still only allow 2 drones not 4?

I believe you that only 2 can be taken or I'm sure I would have already seen lists with 4 drones on 1 suit. I am just trying to find the correct angle to look at the rules so that I can stop asking questions like these.
