Hi folks,

For the - let's be generous here - 2 of you that were wondering how my custom chapter worked out, I finally finished off one squad of boys, an AC/DCCW Dread and a HB/AC Landspeeder. Apologies for the quality of the speeder paint job, it was a little rushed and also I could NOT get all the old paint off it - I have no idea how many times it had been painted before I got it, but it must have been a lot I simply couldn't get the surface smooth.

Anyhoo, here they are:

Tactical Squad:

Dreadnought:

Landspeeder:

Group Shot:

Cheers,

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

Not bad, though personally I would have done the purple using non-metallic paints - the whole chapter just screams 'bling!'

Thanks for the comments.

I actually scored the Amethyst Purple for free from some guys wife who left her and left a whole bunch of gaming stuff at their house It's mostly full and still in great condition (those old hex pots really are airtight!) Hopefully I'll have enough to finish the whole chapter otherwise it'll have to be an emergency order to Cote d'Arms for another pot

I did try a test model with non-metallic purple (I used Imperial Purple, which is a similar shade but flat) and I didn't like the result much. I actually wanted to do them *completely* shiny but the guys on B&C convinced me to run a Badab Black wash over them. It looks nice, but they aren't "super-shiny marines" anymore
