Chaos in the Old World is actually listed as "being on the boat," not simply "coming soon" as KK states.
What does this mean?
About a 4-6 week travel time from China to
FFG's warehouse in the USA. Of course, i'm not sure when it was listed as being put on the Boat so an August or September release is certainly feasible.
Generally those in Australia have been first to get
FFG's games. USA/EUR get the games around the same time if I recall correctly.
From
FFG's site:
"The product is traveling from the printer to our warehouse. The duration of this process varies depending on where the printer is located, be it in the US, China, or Germany, but generally takes four to six weeks."
In the past most of the games they've developed inhouse were coming from China. Some of the games they've simply published in the USA have been printed in Europe, again,
IIRC.
They're pretty good about updating the status of their items. On the coming soon page, the items are color coded - each color means a different phase of the process. Generally you should start to get excited when games are "at the printer."
Warhammer: Invasion LCG is, for example, at the printer
Basically another good indicator of how close the game is will be when
FFG posts the rules online. Generally they have always posted the rules for all their board and card games just prior to the release of said games. I'm so glad they do this, as reading the rulebook is the best way for me to get an idea if i'll like a game or not without having actually played it. But yeah, when the rules are up the game will be out soon.
FFG have also been announcing new games closer to their release dates as well. A couple of their previous titles almost just "sprung" up out of nowhere.
With the Warhammer LCG it seems they've announced it while it was actually at the printer ready to go, while in the past they'd announce games when they were still very early in the design stage (Starcraft, for example, was known to be coming out for quite some time before we saw a release.)
FFG is great. I own quite a few of their titles.
