Beast of Nurgle

Hello all,
I know by now most people may be over tired of questions on what the scheme is for this chapter so I have a bit of a different one. What is the best way to get that shade of purple on the armour?
I've thought about a Chaos Black basecoat with the Liche Purple over it, but think it may come out too dark? Would a Skull White basecoat work better? Perhaps a Codex or Space Wolves Grey to mute it slightly??
Any ideas or thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Sounds like it might work. Why not paint it, and show us.

My experience with liche purple - black undercoat definitly does give it a darker tone, so I'd assume the white undercoat would
give it the brighter, more vibrant look. Not sure what a grey undercoat would do. Only one way to find out :-)

Liche is waay too dark, I have attached a pic below of my marines who have Liche shoulder pads.
I managed to get Soul Drinker purple once, iirc it was a mix of Hormagaunt and Warlock. EDIT: I just checked and I think Warlock on it's own would work.

In a world gone mad, who is left to fight for truth, justice and all that gets you smashed for under a fiver....
First played 40k during 2nd edition, missed out 3rd and 4th, and haven't played 40k since 5th edition - but still read and occasionally paint |

I think warlock purple with a light blue wash would make a nice purple for your soul drinkers.

Purple ink (GW, Windsor and Newton or something else) would give a richness to a purple basecoat.
Windsor and Newton Violet Purple would work well (from an art supply store) but you would want to use matt varnish after as it gives a slightly glossy finish.
