Whats the general difference between PVA glue and Elmer's Multi-Purpose glue? I've seen people using Elmer's more often than anything else so it makes me wonder why I see people saying not too on these forums... I'm about to base a bunch of my mini's and I want to know if it's going to make a difference.

From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

i believe they are the same-as well as padding glue although i think that may be slightly stronger-stays tackier for longer

There really is no difference between the cheapo white school glue and the extremely over priced PVA glue.

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

PVA is a type of glue. The way I understand it (it's not a common here), Elmer's is a specific brand of PVA that has become almost generic (Like Band-Aid or Kleenex). It also goes by other names, woodworking (or wood) glue, white glue, etc. etc. It's all pretty similar, though various brands have different properties in terms of viscosity, shrinkage, drying time and so on. Everyone has their favourite brand - personally I use Selley's Aquadhere, though I'd use anything designed for woodworking, as they tend to be a bit thicker in my experience.

Alright. So it sounds like I am indeed safe with using Elmer's. Thanks guys. Looks like I have 1000 points of Space Wolves to go base then...

Try a DIY store for different types of PVA. There's fast drying, waterproof etc & you can get it by the gallon and way less mulla ($$).

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
