1) Can you shoot under a skimmer, afforded it does not block line of sight? If so, does it give what is shooting/being shot at a 4+ cover save?

2) I know you cannot shoot into a combat, but can you shoot over a combat? For instance, this came up when my jetbikes were in CC with a Tau Broadside. This CC was directly in front of a immobilized HammerHead. Could the Hammerhead shoot through the combat to something on the other side? We couldn't find this in the rulebook anywhere.

3) If a blast scatters out of sight/range (as described on p30 of the rulebook) does what gets hit get a 4+ cover save? For example: A Fire Prism shoots at a tactical squad and the shot scatters and hits another tactical squad that is behind a piece of terrain and is out of sight from the fire prism.

4) Can a Farseer cast psychic powers (such as fortune or doom) while it is locked in combat? If so does the Farseer have to cast the powers on its squad/the squad it is engaged with or can the Farseer cast powers on any unit in range?

5) If a transport vehicle is shaken/stunned the rulebook says that passengers may not shoot 'from the vehicle' in their next shooting phase, but are otherwise unaffected. Does this mean the squad can hop out of the transport vehicle and shoot?

6) Do you get any sort of cover save against Tau markerlights?

7) Where can I buy rigged dice?

If you can draw a line from the attacker's eyes to the target model, you can shoot. Page 16.

If LOS to the target is partially blocked, then they get a cover save as per the table on page 21.

2) I know you cannot shoot into a combat, but can you shoot over a combat?

If you can draw a line from the attacker's eyes (or in this case the vehicle's weapon) to the target model, you can shoot. Page 16.

3) If a blast scatters out of sight/range (as described on p30 of the rulebook) does what gets hit get a 4+ cover save?

If the target is partially obscured from the PoV of the attacker, they get a cover save.

4) Can a Farseer cast psychic powers (such as fortune or doom) while it is locked in combat?

That would depend on the power. Powers that are cast as shooting attacks would be bound by the close combat rules, so would be unusable.

5) If a transport vehicle is shaken/stunned the rulebook says that passengers may not shoot 'from the vehicle' in their next shooting phase, but are otherwise unaffected. Does this mean the squad can hop out of the transport vehicle and shoot?

Correct.

6) Do you get any sort of cover save against Tau markerlights?

Saving Throws are made against Wounds. Since the Markerlight doesn't cause a wound, a Saving Throw would not be allowed.

7) Where can I buy rigged dice?

eBay. Just about any Dice retailer.

1) If your models can see their models, you can shoot them. If the skimmer was high enough above the ground that you can trace Line of Sight from your models' heads to any part of the body of the target, its ok. If any part of their body is obscured, they get a cover save.

2)Ditto. As long as they don't completely block line of sight, its a fair shot.

3) Take LOS from the tank. If it is obscured from the tank's POV, then it gets a cover save, but you can still hit them.

4) Not sure about that.

5) Yes.

6) No.

7) No.

7) Where can I buy rigged dice?

If you played me with rigged dice and I caught you, I probably wouldn't be keen on playing you again. I doubt anyone else would either.

But then again you might have a legitimate reason to have rigged dice... even if I can't think of one.

I would sure like to know the reason for rigged dice.... Although it might be fun to play with them against my friend who has been playing 40k for years longer than me and ALWAYS kicks my butt... It would be fun to have the "dice gods" in my favor one time.... I know if I caught someone legitimately (aside from pulling a prank.... IE at a tournament or at a LGS and not friends) using rigged dice I might use a brick painted like a die and "accidently" roll it on your most expensive figure... heh... But I think that everyone has answered your question....

Rigged dice would be a fairly cool novelty

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.
