I've just started LOTR, starting with isengard I have already seen my main weakness, numbers. What is the best way to bulk up on numbers and still contain a reasonable amount of fighting urak-hi. And yes I am willing to use ally's to boost numbers. Also what other tips can you suggest for an Isengard force? Any help is welcome.

Drop half your Uruks and replace them with twice as many Orks.

10 Uruks and 20 Orks is about the same points as 20 Uruks. Use Ork Spearmen to support Uruks with handweapon and shield.

or use my favourite list, 1 captain in ha and shield, about 10 crossbows, and max out on uruks with shields, you get the best of both

Thanks for the fast reply, and just to ask can Isengard ally with Harad? The archers look full of win for only 6 points each and able to re-roll to wound. Also with the orc's backing up, any use for the uruks with pike's?

if a pike is in base contact with a pike/spearmen who is supporting then both can supprt, so there is some call for them, however, a shielded uruk is incredibly difiicult to kill, and pikes don't tend to last past the frontline troops dying.

I think Isengard can ally with Harad, but I'd have to check Legions.

Pike allows you to fight in three ranks, spear only lets you fight in two. So, you can go:
Engaged Model
Spear Ork
Pike Uruk

and have 3 attacks for the engaged model.

Legions does not allow Harad to ally with isengard (unless I read it wrong).

Just a small tip, have your force lead by Saruman and Grima.Apart from some magical support,Grima can be a useful tool as he cannot be killed until Saruman has been(although I am not sure as this is all from memory).

Oh and by the way I think only Mordor and the dunedain(spelling) can ally with isengard.
