So, some of you have seen my painted Hector Rex.
Well, he was part of an order I made for Father's Day. I ordered Rex and a Daemon Prince of Khorne with Herald from Forge World.
Now, I'm thinking this is the biggest mistake I've ever seen in regards to a Forge World order. Period.
I recieved Rex, albeit the Exorcist/Hierophant model was missing. That's fine. He can be replaced real easy by them, and they'll do it no questions asked.
But the Daemon Prince of Khorne never arrived.
As in:
The Daemon Prince did not come, period. The bag he was supposed to come in DID arrive. With the Herald and the instructions.
But no Prince.
So yeah. Unless they package him separately or some fluke of fate had him being forgotten and mailed out later...
But I'm doing what I can to deal with FW, since I'm putting in a big order for Cadian Respirator kits for my Guard army I'm working on. We'll see what happens.

Damn right I did I missed their office hours by an hour or so though, and they also sent me an email regarding my Cadian Respirator order being a few pounds short of getting free express shipping.

I'm fortunate to live near half a dozen GW stores. If I order FW I'll do it from the store and have it delivered to the store. I'll open it there in the store and if there is a problem I have the manager help me deal with the FW staff. I had an issue with a vindicator kit and they ended up not only sending me the missing part, but a whole new kit lol. If I didn't have the GW staff to help me out I would have reservations about doing business with FW, as it seems at least one out of three orders I've seen has some kind of issue. Everything from missing parts to parts that look like dookey that somehow slipped through their QC process.

AgeofEgos spent over six months trying to get all the parts of Warhound Titan and still never got all of them. Then his next titan order was screwed up and they made a joke when he called, "I guess the grots got it HEHEHEHE." FW is a horribly run business since they have no rivals because no non-GW or FW models may be used in offical-GW tournies now.

Again: Have never had a problem like this, and the fact that they already emailed me in hopes of getting more money for my Respirator order means I should be getting a bit more attention than most orders do.
But we'll see, if it doesn't I'll cancel the order and just let it be.

FW is reputedly one of the worst mini companies in the whole market. Even blue-table painting has dropped a few snide remarks about them.
I will personally NEVER order from FW simply because I cannot stand this kind of ridiculous nonsense. The problems are mainly with the Titans, but I have heard of entire resin kits being beyond repair, which means I would have to wait for up to 6 months, possibly even a year if they feel like making me the "unlucky" one.
I have to re-sculpt a 500-1000$ model... this must be some sort of joke.

The Titan issues I can understand. They don't keep a steady stock of stuff like the Reaver, Manta, or the Imperial Fortress.
Add in the fact that people were getting ready for Planetstrike, I might just have gotten screwed because of a mishap.
But hence my calling them and emailing them, etc.
They will learn that I can be a persistent git

Eh. I have no stores anywhere near me to order from, and I've built up a decent relationship with FW over the years.
Before now, the worst thing I ever had was a bent bit or two, or a cockpit that had a structure molded weakly and wouldn't fit.
So hopefully it'll get results.
I'd really love it though, if FW would actually have their own, actual in-store reps etc at GW stores. That would be...for lack of a better term, amazing.

GW no doubt has scouts that cruise WH40k related forums, no doubt they will catch wind of this (unless they skip the off-topic forum ) and FW will be on your nuts like caramel (owch).
Seems to work pretty well when you have a bunch of people waiting for a judgment/ critique.
I had a problem with a small independent online retailer (possibly because of the new GW changes to online sales) but I had absolutely no problem reaching them when I had a problem. I think it was actually the same guy the whole time, . That is good customer service, what you are going through sounds like hell, or at least a shabby form of purgatory. I always imagined purgatory as a slightly uncomfortable pub, and they only have half-pints... NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Even worse would be a purgatory bar that served only shots of any drink... omg, what have I done...
"Note"
I can imagine this being an appropriate topic for the P&M section, or even Dakka discussions.

Oh no, it's just an issue of I go to sleep during their prime working hours.
I've not been given the runaround, just unlucky.
Hence loading up on caffeine tonight and waiting to get the email from them tomorrow(which was at 6:31AM--a half hour after I went to sleep today ).
But let's see how it goes eh! Eh!
Think positive thoughts. Or play Team Fortress 2 to pass the time.

Update!
<beginning of message removed since it dealt with the order information of my Cadian Respirators>
As or the daemon prince and rex problem, I shall get a customer services order placed and sent to you as soon as possible, this will not cost you anything as it was our mistake
Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused
Thanks
Forge World
And from what the CS guy said on the phone when I was talking to him also, it was going right out with the express order(free express shipping. Yep. I reached that on Respirator kits, plasma/melta gunners and a command HQ set that's going to be used to make advisors )

Buyer beware, they make promises and usually don't keep them. I didn't get my replacements parts with UPS express until two weeks ago, even though I was promised to get my kit at the start of this year. If you want it, ignore your phone bills and keep calling-calling-CALLING until the guy stops apologizing and actually does as he promises.

I've got a tracking number BrookM And then recieved an email from the customer service guy's boss confirming that it would be going out asap.
But either way, Father's Day is past and my dad knows what he was getting. The Daemon Prince can come late, because they also tossed in a pair of the World Eater Terminator kits as way of apology.
But it's rather funny because dad is enjoying his herald on its nice sculpted base and keeps making clank clank sword noises whenever he has it out.
It's rather hilarious, because he's also doped up on painkillers after surgery on his arm

I have no problems with FW, but I don't order anything big, just a few DKOK, character models, and Cadian respirator heads.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

You know, look on ebay and see what forgeworld products are fetching compared to buying them from FW itself. There is a whole sub-market for people who actually have FW models "in-hand", that dont require re-sculpting.

I sold an entire respirator equipped Cadian army a few years back, where a few Sabres hadn't been shipped at that point.
I got three Destroyer Tank Hunters because of a shipping delay.

Just remember: big spenders always have a priority at FW over the smaller orders. And primary reason for them being so generous is probably a general aura of "Meh, can't be bothered with the individual parts so let's just send another whole kit and hope for the best."

I think the whole reason for the whole new Rex set is they seem to prefer casting sets like that, rather than just one specific model.
I mean, for the longest time that's why they wouldn't do bits for Titans right?
But hey, I'm content In fact, the first part of the shipment(my Cadian kits and the Khorne World Eater sets that they included for no charge because of the Daemon Prince incident) came, and I was pleasantly surprised that they actually included Chaos Terminator plastics with it.
