I've asked a lot of questions in these forums and would like to attempt to give back what little I can.
It's said that newcomes to any hobby, job, sport, etc... can see things veterans may not have and give a new perspective on the little things.
In my attempt to say thanks for the answers to my piddly questions I'd like to share a discovery I have made.
I was able to make fairly convincing mediocre rocks for my bases by using a little piece of bent sprue as a frame for some green stuff.
Hopefully, it saves you a little greenstuff by using the sprue as a frame and gives you a base to build the rock up from.

My rock terrain looks so realistic, unfortunately its a fair bit heavier than the plastic terrain

That's it behind the SoB that need their faces fixed up >_>

That actually sounds interesting, though. I might try it sometime. For now I've just been using small stones from the fish tank, they only seem to work on the large bases though as they're a bit much for the normal troop bases. Thanks.

I should note I'm using them as 'centerpiece' rocks. I'm not sure what you'd call them, but they're fairly large and there's only one on a base, so ya they're big rocks, but not quite boulders or anything. They're mainly being used to break up an otherwise flat, boring snowscape that will match my army. I have necron abyss blue rocks poking up out of the snow here and there.

Somewhere in the unknown universe.

Use a real rock. Like a pebble from the woods or your backyard or something.

Congratulations, that was the stupidest remark the entire wargaming community has managed to produce in a long, long time.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

Real rocks for some reason don't look right on a board...it just feels wrong...

Thats because real rocks havnt been on the battlefield for thousands of years, being blowd up and used in evil ceremonies. You find a rock like that, and itll blend right in
