How do you guys see the casters with the field rules?

I liked Vlad a lot normally (BoK + S&P) or (BoK, BF and 2 dmg boosted attacks on charge kills a 'jack). All his spells had a time and place really.

New Vlad still looks pretty good (even though he loses BF and +1 FOC cost on BoK). I like to have a hard to kill caster, so Karchev also looked pretty good. Zerkova seems appealing as a sit back and cast caster but is kinda squishy. I also considered the butcher as he is pretty tough and gets the most 'jack points.

What have you guys been using with the test rules?

Overall they seemed to remain about the same to me... Vlad and Sorcha got the downward tweaks that were in order. Karchev is better now considering jack improvements and focus boost to arm. Butcher, well butcher is still butcher...

That about sums it up...

Butcher picked up Warmonger, which is extremely powerful. All jacks in his battle group can spend one focus to boost an attack's attack and damage rolls. This includes all blast damage rolls. It makes his lists rather shooty, which isn't what the Butcher is all about.

The butcher is about KILLIng period and he isn't particular about how it is accomplished. If he was a mindless brawler he wouldn't have a gun himself.

I forgot about Warmonger... Awesome spell. I seem to remember people complaining about it. Certainly gives you good reason to field a Destroyer or two...

Butcher is very popular in these parts. Vlad needs fixing, he's more potent than he used to be.

Of coarse he is... Butcher, in addition to having a great name, is all about aggression and straight up damage potential. Whats not to like about that?

I haven't played enough Vlad (MK1 or MK2) to see where you're coming from.

Vlad is just plain amazing in MkIIFT. Seriously, there's no reason for him to be as amazing as he is.

The Butcher is great, but his Spd4 is a pretty big hinderance, especially against any caster that can impede his movements (Gaspy comes to mind).

Butcher also lost some kool spells such as retaliation and killing blow. He got more support which I really didnt think he needed. I always felt that the butcher was the kind of caster that doesnt have the best support but can beat down on guys by himself.

eIrusk is awesome, I have used him with loads of winterguard and he is simply amazing. Really, he is most effective with lots of infantry and that means your army is going to be mostly shooting. I ran him with winterguard and rockets + marauder and yuri. really well rounded army.

Old witch got nerfed quite a bit, and karchev got buffed huge. He is now my favorite caster. Not only did he get buffed ALOT, but jacks also got buffed up thus making him better as beefheart said.
