I am taking part in a campaign that has several rule limitations on what will be a 1000pt army build. Most of these limitations tend to really put the hurt on my current Eldar build, so I am tailoring a new force.
RULES:
- 200pt max into vehicles (includes the vehicle and all up grades)
- 50pt max on wargear for each HQ (includes psychic powers, excludes warlock retinues)
- 3 monstrous creatures max
- no special characters
- All missions are land grabbers

This is what I’m working on right now
HQ:
Autarch = fusion blaster, warp generator, mandiblasters, chainsword (120)
-joined with warp spiders

FAST ATTACK:
warp spiders x5 w/ exarch = powerblades, additional spinner, withdraw (152)

TROOPS:
Jetbikes x6 w/ 2 cannons, and x1 warlock w/ spear and conceal (215)

Dire Avernger’s x10 w/ exarch =bladestorm, duel catapults
-wave serpent = stones, twin b-lances, star engines (312)

I have 201 points left. I am debating fielding: 2nd jetbike squad, 5 shinning spears, OR 10 man scorpion unit to outflank.

I believe this is on the tactics forum as well, which list is your current favourite?

Anyway, I advised wave serpents and aspect warriors there, that's just my playstyle. I think some other people would recommend an avatar and two wraithlords, or lots of jetbikes.

Comments on the units here: The wave serpent just has too much upgrades. you don't need Brightlances AND star engines, the vehicle should be using one or the other. Do not use shining spears at this size game. They are too expensive (200pts+ for a viable unit) and they are risky even in a larger game. I use 'em. I like 'em, but I'm learning they need to be used carefully. At 1000, if something goes a bit wrong you can lose that chunk of your army super fast. Take ordinary jetbikes instead.

Well, Warp Spiders are sometimes overlooked, but its a decent unit.
I'd take a full unit incl. Exarch with withdraw. If the Autarch joins this squad, she benefits from the Exarch's powers.
The Serpent hardly needs star engines; this tank should move 12'' each round and shoot.

The army lacks anti-tank.

Alright second attempt

HQ:
Autarch = fusion blaster, warp generator, mandiblasters, chainsword (120)
-joined with warp spiders

FAST ATTACK:
warp spiders x7 w/ exarch = powerblades, additional spinner, withdraw (152)

TROOPS:
Jetbikes x6 w/ 2 cannons, and x1 warlock w/ spear and conceal (215)

Dire Avernger’s x10 w/ exarch =bladestorm, duel catapults
-wave serpent = twin cannons, (252)

ELITE:
Fire Dragons x7
- wave sepent = twin cannons (196)

total 995

I could also swap out the Elite dragon unit with 5 spears w/a star lance exarch and upgrade the one serpent w/ twin-EML and stones.

Remember, I need a unit that can take out those wraithlords or terminators quickly as this force is not very combat heavy. If I keep the spears they are more fragile, but both them and the spiders can jump out of combat together. Still 2 serpents can take some of the pressure away and add another unit for contesting.

NOTE: sory that this is posted on both forums, I feel the discussion should be on this board, but I keep getting feedback on the other.

Looks better.
The Warlock should get embolden for increased staying power.
The Warp-Spider Exarch's powerblades are optional. With S3 she might not do a lot of damage.

The Serpents need stones.

If i take 2 serpents plain that reaches my 200pt limit. I can only take stones if I knock the list down to one serpent and switch out the dragons with another elite busting unit (eg. shinning spears).
