 I find them very useful when they come to you. Demolishers are meant to advance/ hold ground at close range and therefor will definately get close to enemies whether you like it or not. The Exec; people go for it, but maybe a 
HB would be better

Inqs seems to boost them on. In the few games i've played with him he's racked up; two 
SM captains, a librarian, a Rhino (i had the psychic power which doubles your strength), countless nameless troopers and...Abaddon. And I have a very useful habit of rolling 6s with him =).
