So I have just started building my Skorne army for Hordes and I thought it would be a great army to do my first p&m blog about.
I am shooting for a pretty table top standard that looks good and beats the crap out of most armies you will see at your FLGS but nothing to insane.
I just got my Titan Gladiator in primer which is kind of nice because i thought my greenstuff job was going to turn out like crap but it looks alright

I will try and update this a few times a week, possibly more if there is any interest in this thread.

Too early to tell, but it looks to be shaping up nicely. So are you going to paint it in the normal Skorne colours?

I really can't make up my mind on the black and gold or black purple and gold. I think the titans would look bad a with a dark purple.
but i have already broken off the flag twice so its staying off for good now. I pinned it and it fell off above the 2 connections D:

I have always liked gold/bronze like this:

It's just a thought as I do not like the skornes original paint scheme that much(by this I mean that red and gold).

That is a really cool scheme. But i don't think i would be able to pull it off well.

So i got the Skin Base Coated and I think I am going to go with the original Skorne paint job because its something I would not normally do. Later today i will dry brush the skin with a lighter Grey and move on to the fun part

Also F that flag man that thing is wayyy to fragile.

What a pleasent surprise. I had recently just started to finish off some old skorne mini's I've had laying around for a while.

Good to see some Hordes on here.

Hordes is awesome. Especially since its possibly thousands of dollars less then GW to get a large army.

Thousands of dollars less you say?

"Why yes Wrex, Thousands of dollars less PER DAY!!!"

I like that mini, and I hope to see how it looks when you finish it.

Well maybe not plural but its a solid 1g to get a 40k army from the ground up. If its of normal size anyway.

Thanks man I am really digging Skorne I bought another Gladiator Titan and Cannoneer Titan today. They were 50% off Damaged box win!

So the skin was actually a real pain on this model but it looks good now so i have moved on to the armor. I'm going to get the head fully painted up so you guys can get a feel for it because if i just show you the layers of black i have on now you would probably be like whoopty f***in do you can paint black lol.

But anyway update pics tomorrow

Also my total army list is:

Archdomina Makeda
2x Titan Gladiators
2x Titan Cannoneers
2x Cyclops Savages
10 Praetorians
1x Swamp Gobbers Bellows Unit.
Total is 736 points.

God willing i will have them all painted up by the first week of august

Holy crap, that list is Fury intense for Makeda.

In order to run that list "safely", you're going to need a unit or two of Paingivers.

I could do that. I might just get some troops to replace a titan or something though. I have pretty much just been going with what I was given and what has been on sale lol.

No pics today because I had female voodoo cast upon me and got distracted ><

Yeah, it's a lot of Fury. Makeda is Fury 5 or 6 or something, so you're either going to end
up running hot all the time and taking risky frenzy checks or you're going to have to reduce
the number of beasts/increase fury management.

She's very much an infantry leader. Her abilities keep non-Fearless troops fighting,
and her feat is a boon to squads that have lost troops along the way.

It's been a while since anyone else posted, so I'll take a shot. First of all, I would highly recommend getting a Cyclops Shaman in there, one of my favorite models (animus is invaluable against Cryx). You can also switch out a cannoneer for a unit of Karax. Saves you a bit of fury, plus with AoE's not deviating past the Karax and them not taking blast damage, they'll be able to help guide AoE's onto the enemy (and with Carnage they do well enough in melee, especially if they pair up for CMA's). And of course the previously mentioned Paingiver's, if not two if you want lots of beasts.

I also (very highly) recommend Molik Karn as opposed to a second Gladiator. MK can put out a lot of damage (with Makeda he's at 6 Fury, can boost after like a savage, and on a lucky hit you can spend a fury to give him extra damage). There have been more than one time where I've just had him walk up and destroy a Woldwarden in a round and had fury to spare. Match him up with an agonizer and Fate Ward puts other beasts at 2D6 to hit and 1D6 damage. So...he does a lot of damage, can last a long time with the agonizer, and can move fairly quickly (move 6", attack, then move another 6").

List so far...
Makeda-64
Molik Karn-131
Titan Gladiator-109
Cyclops Savage-62
Cyclops Shaman-68
Full Karax-95
Full Swordsman-85
Full Paingivers-52
---696 Points

Throw in an Ancestral Guardian and an Extoller to reap some souls and it puts you at exactly 750. I guess that wasn't so much me helping you as me just building a list, that you might use...

Looking forward to seeing what you do with these guys, I've just bought the Skorne Battle Box myself and I'm using them as rewards for painting parts of my Marine 40k army. I love the models and the red and gold paint scheme should look awsome.
